Regional food, mainly stews and empanadas. Prices are very reasonable, around low hundreds (pesos) for most stews. Each empanada is 20 pesos, with a variety of fillings to choose from. Dining area is cozy, only a few tables. Good in general was tasty and hearty,...More

One thing we do when travelling is seek out an eatery that seems to be busy with locals, such was the case after searching for leather jackets in the heart of Buenos Aires we stumbled upon this cute restaurant. The whole place had only 36-40...More

The empanades are good! But i dont believe its good enough to make up for the terrible service! To can manage basic spanish.. hello, how are you, etc. All the staff were openly hostile!!!!! Part of travelling is making the best of a situation where...More

While vacationing in Argentina, I had my fill of empanadas and never had a bad one, but the BEST were here at 1810. They were baked, and the crusts were light and flaky. My favorite filling was humitas, a sweet corn creamy mash. The lunch...More

You'll not find a lot of tourists here. It's a place to eat typical Argentina food, home cooking-kind. Not sophisticated but heart filling and pipping hot. Try the 'Floating Isle' as dessert. you'll thank me :)

I had a humita empanada which was baked, not deep fried, tamale and carbonada stew. It was all good, just not great. Probably the best thing was the stew - it had peach chunks in it that gave it a nice flavor. It was relatively...More

I try my best to speak Spanish, however, when I struggled here the waiter/manager was so rude and unhelpful. The café was recommended by the Hotel Casa Calma, however I fed back to them the surly and offensive service. I would not give this place...More

I have been to this location twice and the one in Belgrano once and they share the same trait -- awful wait staff. But if you can get them to take your order and bring it to your table, the food is excellent. Try the...More

They have wonderful hearty stews with a variety of ingredients (like meat, beans, ...), a great house wine, and great empanadas. No credit cards, but the price is so low two people can eat there at the price for one person anywhere else. We loved...More

Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings
combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to
make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy
sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to
and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied
by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the
port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest.
