We ate at Dada three times (2 dinners and 1 lunch) when we were in Buenos Aires for 5 days. It is a small restaurant and bar and fills up fast, so it is easiest to get a table before 7 p.m. which is early for dinner in Buenos Aires. Their beef dishes are incredible. Be sure to order the... More

Finally snagged a seat at the bar. Very crowded, popular place. Had a beer and some really good hummus for a light snack. Visited at 7:30 Pm the place was packed and a line waiting when I left an hour later. There area few wines on the main menu, and a better selection on the drinks list. Not a gourmet... More

Small place with typical local joint menu, but atmosphere very nice with Classic American pop of the 60s playing. Service friendly and prompt. Small breads and humus brought out first. I had the fried beef filets served with mashed potatoes and arugala salad. Very good.

My research for a new resturant resulted in finding Dada. I walked to it it early and asked if I need reservation. The guy said "for one no need if you sit at the bar". This is very small joint with very few seats. I came back later and the place was packed. Great atmosphere full of good vibes. I... More

We loved this friendly, artsy restaurant in Retiro. (Not easy to find places like that in that neighbourhood.) The food was delicious (I had spinach gnocchi with a meat and tomato sauce and my friend had trout), the service excellent and it seemed to be buzzing with happy local people. It was packed and we were lucky to get two... More

We planned to eat here but to be honest the sight of the back of the restaurant and kitchen combined with the smell emanating from the toilets put us of. Instead we opted for a couple of beers (2 in total) and shared a nachos with guacamole which was refreshing and delicious although expensive (320 pesos).

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
