Breakfast, Lunch, mid afternoon, dinner, at any time is open. Very good service. A classic Buenos Aires. The good news is that it is open 24 hours and with outdoor tables ... Excellent! Very good atmosphere

We had dinner at Babieca and it was very nice. The service is good, specially considering the dreadful treatment you usually get in Argentina. The price is reasonable and worth it. At night, you probably won't have to wait if you don't get there early, since it's a large place and it's location is not very central. Their parrilla (meat)... More

Noisy space. Decent pizza. Non-existent service. Acceptable wine list. But all at very reasonable prices. I won't be back.

We landed here after walking up and down Santa Fe Ave and all the restaurants were giving us LONG wait times even though others who arrived after us were being seated. So we decided to give this place a try. At first impression it is a place where people go after coming from some event, lots of personality, great for... More

A lot of personalities go here to be seen by the public...indoor and outdoor seating available. Staff are long term employees and recognize you when you return. Great food, a little pricey but great atmosphere and variety...good pastries

Its a very convenient place for lunch, dinner or even spend time with a cup of coffee. The food offers a large variety, is abundant and very tasty. Prices are very economical, specially to tourists.

This is a place I have visited on every trip to BA. The food has always been top rate and service was always top rate as well. They have a great Milanese and if it is still on the menu the gnocchi in saffron cream sauce is so good I had to be restrained so I did not pick up... More

As you pass Babieca, they seem to always have a crowd. So we stopped for our afternoon coffee. The staff were professional and efficient! Good coffee and we plan to return for a meal. Comments about waiters not caring for their customers are misplaced. In Argentina, the waiters leave you alone, so you can enjoy your meal/friends. They "will not"... More

Almost beside El Ateneo Bookstore (a must see if you are here). It seems to be very popular at lunch with locals and the sign on the door and windows reads Pan Dulce. The food is average-good, but the location is nice. They have an English menu if you ask. The wait staff are not as quick and attentive but... More

Trip Advisor asked for reports on some favourite Buenos Aires restaurants. I have more than one favourite restaurant depending on the meal. I have one for breakfast, another for mid morning café, a third one for lunch, a fourth for early dinner and a fifth for late [formal] dinner. Finally, I also have a favourite “afternoon tea” place. “Babieca” is... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
