Didn't go to the restaurant but walked around Caminito with my little kids. We are coming from Italy and this little Italy doesn't look like Italy at all :)) was pleasantly surprised! These colorful houses are fantastic! The atmosphere itself is just great there. Of course everything is overpriced there because it is super touristy. This part of Buenos Aires... More

Menu suggests size and quality of dishes that are a fantasy. Bill showed a charge for "tip". This is illegal in Argentina -- an illegal add-on for a table of 2 people. When I asked why it was there, I was lied to twice. Then, the waiter stated, "ok, if you want it off, I'll take it off" (!) An... More

We had a fun late afternoon meal. The service was friendly and staff were helpful as my Spanish language skills are weak. There was more than enough food in our serving and so we packaged up the leftovers for a snack the next day. Nice presentation and fresh tasting.

La Piccola Italia Restaurant! Do not be fooled by glowing reviews from earlier years! This place is not fit to be in the food service industry. The only service we got was when we were quickly ushered to our footpath tables.... It steadily went downhill from there! The waiter took our drink order only to return confused and take the... The worst restaurant me (and my company) have ever been. We went there without having read anything, we had no wi'fi on our mobiles and that was a disaster! The salad was tiny and no taste at all. The french fries was something you also could not eat and the worst was the meat! It came long time later (we... More

Had empanadas and tortillas. Both tasteless and too much fat. Definitely worse meal we had in BA. Also had to wait a long time to get our food which stood 10min on the counter waiting for a waiter to pick it up. Finally when the waitress presented the bill, there was an extra 24$ for table service and an extra... More

Stumbled upon this place for lunch and it was awesome. Pizza was great, Veal Milanesa was yummy, beverages were cold and prices were very reasonable.

We happened upon this restaurant for lunch. Actually, they had someone handing out flyers on the street corner. We didn't have much time to look around so we took a chance. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. We sat outside in a very nice setting. First, they give you, gratis, a glass of Marsala wine (not the cooking... More

Staying in La Boca

Neighbourhood Profile
La Boca
A neighbourhood defined by its immigrant roots, La Boca still maintains this past alive in its streets today. Due to its proximity to the river, the neighbourhood became the preferred settling area for immigrants of a wide variety of origins, who ended up living together in the conventillos. Thus, these houses became a melting pot of different cultures and traditions that birthed creations like tango and lunfardo. Nowadays, this legacy can be seen and felt on Caminito Street, which welcomes visitors with colourful facades, cobblestones, and street artists showcasing their skills. Just like its neighbor San Telmo, La Boca is one of the prime destinations to experience the traditions and customs that originated from the city’s immigrant past and which have shaped its distinct identity.
