We used to eat here every year we set foot to BA. But for the last couple of years, we find this place is not the same as before. The portion became smaller, table fees increases, but the services are still very good and friendly.

The restaurant doesn’t open until 7pm in the evenings, so there isn’t any chance of an early dinner here but there are plenty of pubs and bars on the same street to pass some time if you do get there too early. We visited as we’d read good reviews and they’re all justified - the food was superb and the... More

Great food, good prices, awesome beef, friendly Argentinian manager who speaks English perfectly with a mid west accent. I hate to reveal this secret, but the deserve the biz and the buzz.

very good meal, good service and reasonable price for combination of aforementioned. Service could be slow if you are in a rush (by Argentinian standards), we only had 1.45 for lunch and barley got out in time, needless to say lunches of well over two hours are the norm in the country so restaurants are geared to local rhythm. not... Place is a two level open center restaurant. The decor is basic mostly wood, small bar with no seating. I was received and seated promptly. Clientele was mostly a business crowd. The food is good. Authentic Argentina parrillada fair. If you want a basic steak house I recommend it. Wine Strip Steak Cheese app $50.00

We looked on trip advisor before we went and people were not wrong about this restuarant, it was a true delight, the steak was cooked to perfection, the wine was great and the service was very good and swift. So if you are in Argentina please make sure you give this a try.

We headed here after good reviews on trip advisor . It's location is good and very close to our hotel . However from there is was very disappointing . Full of tourists only, the waiter lacked any charisma at all and the steak was tough - compared to the night before at a recommended restaurant in Palermo soho it was... More

We went to Al Carbon on our first night in Buenos Aires back in January as it was just by our hotel. We had a great meal and had one of the best ribeye steaks I had every eaten. The prices were very reasonable and the service was good. We came back to Buenos Aires last Thursday and again wanted... More

I found this restaurant on TripAdvisor, as close to my hotel in BA. From the street view it does not look like much, once inside, is a nice clean looking place. Our server Federico was very helpful and friendly. Once we received our food, we were both (wife and I) so surprised as of the taste, tenderness of the meat,... More

Argentina is known for its beef – nothing new there – and unless you’re a vegetarian you will no doubt want to sample (at least one) Argentine steak. Well our two weeks in Argentina was not entirely fuelled on steak, but not far off;) For our last night in Argentina we wanted that one last steak, and for some time... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
