We chose the Oriental room, with Japan's typical decoration (a tatami with cushions and low tables) and there was live music with a very talented citara musician. Good service, we chose the we ordered the "tasting" menu and everything was really good. We had a green tea dessert that was excellent!!

We were craving for Asian food and decided to try this place. The restaurant is co-locating with a buddist temple hence the decoration was quite nice. The service is good however the only fish they serve is salmon. So we ended up with a platter of various kind of salmon sushi and rolls. Oh they also only accept cash.

As a japanese descendent, I have to say that my expectation about this restaurant was high, mainly because it has been well rated by specialized media. It is located in downtown. The place is característics with japanese decoration. The service is ok and they only accept cash. The menu is limited and restricted to few dombories options (fried rice) and... More

We had good dinner here in nice atmosphere. You will not expect this nice restaurant from.street view but venue is great. They had nice live music and staff was good. Small thing was the starter for my colleague was huge and he doubted to order half portion for main. Waited did not recommend this and at end it resulted in... More

Furaibo is a really cute place in an active Japanese temple. Great ambiance and pretty good food. Not mind blowing, but the best place in BA to get a nice bowl of ramen. Highly recommend the kimchi ramen overall. Fridays and Saturdays have live music..totally worth the trek into centro

Atmosphere and interior decoration are a kind of Buddhism style. I suppose that non-Asian can enjoy this design. But food is not Japanese real taste therefore there's no Japanese.

Furaibo is authentic. Owned by Japenese and some waiters even speak the language of the samurai. The menu is gigantic and dishes are generous. Have an asahi beer with your with your meal.

Very nice Japanese decoration. Foods are OK, I guess this is good for Buenos Aires but for someone who is living in California who has access to lots of good Sushi and Japanese restaurants, the foods here are just average. Service could have been more attentive.

I had heard this was a good restaurant. Maybe being from San Francisco I was expecting too much. They have done a nice job with the setting, although on my first visit there was some drumming event going which didn't make for a relaxed dining experience. Why don't they do that at some other time or at least warn diners... More

We were a little but tentative entering this place as we'd had some terrible sushi else where in BA, but we left this place feeling refreshed and healthy. This place had a very authentic atmosphere, excellent service and scrumptious food. The miso was one of the best I've had! I had the salmon teriyaki which was great, and my boyfriend... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
