A storm came up as we were walking to dinner so we decided to check this place out. The food was cheap, but not very flavorful or tasty. I felt like. A rock was in my stomach when we left. Our waiter however was nice. I guess you get what you pay for.

Cilantro is a nice restaurant with lovely and helpful staff. We enjoyed the food (we went there twice) and think that the value is just great.

We stayed in Reina Madre hostel, so it was an easy choice to have dunner here. The sushi looked and tasted great. Especially considering the price (AR$180 for 28 pieces). It was more then enough for two. The staff was friendly, spoke some English and were really quick. We especially loved the wine (glasses are huge!!!)! :)

Big mistake... if you have had authentic sushi and Italian food, I don't recommend you buying it at this particular restaurant. Stick to their specialty, which is grilled steaks and Argentinian dishes.

Great sushi! We stayed at the Reina Madre Hostel, located right by this restaurant. We planned to explore the cocina platense by going to different restaurants everyday but ended up eating on this one three times! Warsteiner bier in the jar and sushi!

The place is nice and great enviroment, however it seems to be more like a bar, good for drinks, the food was ok but not impressive, if you need a good bar for a drink this is the place, looking for a good dinner, go somewhere else.

I planned a fairly quiet night so I came here alone, early (7.30) pm on a saturday night when apart from a few smokers on the patio the restaurant was empty. Initial service was fine. I ordered 'green thai curry' which was a close to green thai curry as buenos aires is to bangkok. But i told the waitress I... More

I love this place! I recently returned from 3 weeks in Buenos Aires, and Cilantro was my home away from home! Luciano is the best bartender in the world, and I think I may have tried just about every drink on the menu! I suggest the spicy margarita, and of course the mojitos are delicious! The atmosphere is very cool,... More

Maybe it was an off night but our dry grey goose martinis had about a fourth vermouth in them, one sip and we didn't bother with the rest. The Sushi was okay only our tuna rolls came out of a can - wasn't expecting that and thecooked chicken in a roll was different but tasty . And the other dish... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
