With a whiff of mildew and a simple environment, we were served divine ceviche and fried shellfish as well as two sumptuous pisco sours. Great service by lovely people and no other tourists as far as we could see! Great place!

I ordered ceviche having seen a great review here and I agree. This is a lovely informal / family & friends place. Quick service. Limited wine if ordered by the glass - otherwise I would have given 5*s. Cash only. I paid $300 (Argentinian pesos). Good value.

This is Peruvian and it is just delicious--I dont eat meat , only fish, and all three fish dishes I had were perfect--the ceviche is fantastic and fresh, the fish soup... More

Tuesday late lunch. Big portions of well made food. Service attentive. Good value. Decor rather tired. Would go again.

This restaurant is close to Plaza del Congreso, small, a family run business, quite unfriendly and impersonal. We decided to go there to try something different in BA, but it was a completely waste of time. Unwelcomed and with some dirty chairs, we just wanted it to be over. Food is just average but price is very reasonable. The fried... More

This place is nothing special to look at the toilets could do with a clean but the staff were friendly and the food was good. The value for money was excellent with a bottle of house wine costing 3 pounds and still very drinkable. We went twice!

I enjoyed every bit of it. I am Peruvian and was here on business. A co-worker recommended this place and I am very glad I went. Everything was perfect. Tasted good, service was great and the price was right. Earlier in the week I tried Mullu a trendy Peruvian restaurant and was extremely disappointed. It was also very expensive. I... More

I have gone here a ton of times while I was living in Buenos Aires, and it is my favorite restaurant in the city. The prices are great, they have a wonderful selection of wines, the service couldn't be any better, and the desserts are always perfect. I never had a bad experience here, and after traveling to Peru, I... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
