In the middle of nowhere, some 10km out of Tomar, we were looking for a place to have a drink and then dinner. It turned out to be A Luria. We had our drinks and while we were contemplating the menu, they offered us a...plate of excellent ham. The wine list is like a novel.... And we could not resist going for their last bottle of an excellent 2011 Douro. Of course, we were the first in the restaurant, but the room soon filled up with large parties of portuguese people. Somehow, that did not disrupt the service. Food was great. But perhaps what we enjoyed most was the warm handshake at the end. They must have noticed our appreciation of our evening ☺️.More

A must for traditional Portuguese food. I visited it some 3 times some years ago, and the 'cabrito' was delicious, as well as the wine and deserts. Nice staff. Fair price. Near Tomar.

I came to eat in their restaurant within a family reunion of more than 80 people and the whole main room was reserved for us. As such my review regards this event and not the normal day to day experience. We had a fantastic buffet...was anti pasta that was quite amazing, followed by another incredible buffet of warm dishes, that was really good. All the principle dishes served on this restaurant were available so that we could try everything. Top, top! After all this food extravaganza we had another fantastic buffet of sweets and fresh fruits. What can i say? Everybody was in heaven with a big fat belly to remind us of all the good things we ate. First class service and food.More

Me and my parents stopped by this place after a friend's advice. Well, we can say it was a good advice regarding the desserts, They were really, really good. But the rest... not quite. The service was slow and we waited 60 minutes for the...meal to arrive. When it finally did, it was average. But we saved the worst for last. When we were paying, we complained to the manager about the waiting time and his response was, literally, "I could care less about those comments." ... So... astonished, we payed, we left and we advised our friends, as I advise you right now: beware the awful manager.More

We, a part of seven people, made the journey from Tomar out to this restaurant, for an evening meal, with high expectations. Not very friendly welcome when we got there, even though only four tables were occupied. Limited choice on the menu. Mushrooms on the...steak had a very strange taste. Pork meat was dry (with prawns). Everybody did not rate the food that good.....Maybe it was a bad night.? Only plus...very good stock of wine.More

I've been here several times, the food is always excellent, the service is great and the prices are affordable. It is located on a small, pittoresque, quiet village very near the Zezere river. If you're nearby, a visit is mandatory.

The food was fantastic, service excellent. True Portuguese cuisine. Lovely setting. The restaurant is owned and run by one family. Nothing was too much trouble. A hidden gem, well worth the short trip outside Tomar.
