We stayed at the Wild Mushroom for 2 nights whilst visiting Stellenbosch and Franschoek. The hotel is very well appointed the room we had was very spacious and on the ground floor opening directly on to the terrace and garden. Breakfast was imaginative and well presented and the staff were attentive and friendly. Happy to recommend.

Stayed at The Wild Mushroom a while ago - has been fully booked when I've tried subsequently - and no wonder! My experience there can only be described as perfect. The hospitality, communication, suite, breakfast, views - all faultless. Really hope that I can get a booking there when I next visit the area!

This is a fairly local small restaurant which we visit quite frequently. The food is beautifully presented and of high quality. The staff are attentive and friendly, without being too much. Great ambience.

Everything, warm welcome, amazing rooms, excellent breakfasts! The views are stunning. I loved the outdoor shower in the poolside villa. Lots of fine dining restaurants on your doorstep only 10 - 15 minutes drive away! Well worth a visit!

After travelling around South Africa we chose to end our visit with a stay in Stelenbosch. We chose the Wild Mushroom based on all the good reviews on TripAdvisor. On arrival we were greeted by Joey who gave us a tour of the home and made sure we knew where everything was located. We were very delighted with the accommodations.... More

The food was pleasant. We had a set menu, and I would have expected more mushroom dishes. Staff was great and food was well presented. The wine list was extensive, but quite pricey.

Great food - simply lovely to experience the various mushroom varieties at every meal. Luxurious suites. Great views. And we were the only guests! We did go while the estate that the Wild Mushroom is in was renovating, so there were workers on site - I think that's why there was a Groupon. But for a night away, it was... More

I bought two tickets to the Exotic Mushroom and Wine Tasting experience through Groupon and we atttended last Saturday. The tasting is conducted in the lounge of the hotel and the presenter- who owns/runs(?) the mushroom facility on the farm, is incredibly educated in his field. We had a small five course meal- each with different mushroom varieties and a... More

On a Monday night in February, when many other restaurants in Stellenbosch were closed, our guest house owner recommended having dinner at the Wild Mushroom. It was close by - so much so instead of giving us directions he pointed at the two tall palm trees in the Wild Mushroom garden. We dumped our bags in our guest house room... More

We have eaten there several times both for lunch and dinner in dec.2009 and jan.2010, and will surely go back when we return to SA end of this year. The place is marvellous, a superbly restored old manor house with scenic views of the beautiful mountains of this Stellenbosch area, the welcome and servcie are heartwarming, and the young enthousiastic...
