My husband and I have eaten here on several occasions in previous years and decided to try again. You have to book! Excellent welcome from the Maitre D who gave us a big hug. What a memory! The menu is exciting and the wine list copes with all tastes and wallets. I am gluten free and there was no problem... More

If you are prepared to drive a little way out of Cape Town though the spectacular Chapman's Peak drive, you are rewarded with one of the best restaurants on the peninsula. In a village setting, the restaurant oozes class. It is obvious that the chef is in control and knows his stuff! Leisurely lunches are great. Friendly service and plenty... More

This is one of my favourite restaurants to eat at when I visit the Cape Peninsula. Frank the chef and owner always finds new and exciting dishes for his menu. A must for food lovers.

Our tour guide took us here explaining the story of the French chef who popped up here or something, can't really remember... Wow, incredible food and service set inside an organic farm market. Perfect quality and service and setting to match... Bit out the way, however definitely worth a visit!!

Firstly, I just want to confirm that I have no affiliation with this establishment, or any of its employees whatsoever. Having eaten at a number of the "Eat Out Top 10" restaurants in South Africa whilst on holiday here, The Food Barn, although not in "The Top 10", deserves to be right up there with the best. In fact, it... More

My girlfriend and I dined at the foodbarn last night and were extremely impressed with the experience. I worked with Franck many years ago at La Colombe so I knew what we were install for and it certainly didnt disappoint. The prawn starter and lamb cutlets were truly incredible and the portions were big enough to feel satisfied. Our waitress... More

Lots of rave reviews but it lives up to its billing. Calamari exceptional. Not cheap by SA standards but well worth it. Definitely need to book (esp weekends) and if it have kids ask for the large table outside by the play area so you can eat and keep half an eye on the kids.... Great combo!

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Foodbarn Restaurant. The place was full of Capetownians and booking was essential. Crab tail starter, Karoo Lamb Rack main and chocolate brownie dessert. All were absolutely delicious. Subtle flavours and sophisticated taste combinations were the hallmark of the meal. With a bottle of wine and two coffees, the total cost came to... More

I could not have been more impressed by the quality of the food and the balance of the menu. Of the four of us only two drank so it may have been a slight error to have chosen the menu with wine since two of us had double rations. The Fish Tartare was sublime and I would be running out... More

The food here is in a league of its own. World class quality! Every single bite of any meal on the menu is an absolute treat. I have been here with family a number of times and will undoubtably return again. It is also worth mentioning that for the quality of food on offer, the prices are extremely fair. Other... More
