Four of us ate here and I must say the food was really excellent. My pasta and prawns was delicious as was the meals that my companions had. The cheesecake was one of the best I've ever tasted. So what went wrong? The service was indifferent verging on arrogant. The food was just plonked in front of us and side... More

On a recent visit to Cape Town we were recommended to eat at Societi Bistro - and ended up returning twice. I would be delighted if I had such an enjoyable local restaurant.! We dined outside on the first occasion and inside on our return(s). We really enjoyed the atmosphere inside and out. The waiting staff could not have been... More

very pleasant evening out on the terrace with good food and service. menu offers nice, local and international food options (game!) but the wine list really is a who's who of the wines of the region, AND all available by the glass (or bottle of course) - real treat !

The location is great, very stylish. Service very good, but the food was below my expectation. Carpaccio should be thin sliced in my opinion, they served it thick sliced and too warm which changes the taste completely. But the main course they could have done better: Spagetti with Prawns and tomatoes, oven roast garlic. The Spagetti were not fresh prepared,... More

We visited the bistro for dinner on Tuesday evening. The venue was a hive of activity with waitrons hurrying about, constantly shadowed by trainees. The menu was a bit limited, particularly for vegetarians, but the food was delicious - nothing left on any of our plates! The service was very efficient, but not particularly warm or friendly. Our expressed compliments... More

We had a table outside this lovely restaurant and enjoyed some really fabulous food and wine. The pasta starters were outstanding and the service from our waitress and all the other staff was excellent. Off the main tourist area and you'll need to book.

Ate here twice within the last two weeks. The first time was fine. So much so that we took four others the following week. I will keep it short but five of the mains were not eaten and complaints raised. OK the cost was removed from the bill but by that time the damage had been done.

Societi Bistro has. Come an institution in Cape Town, with locals. It's always full, so do book. Lovely outside seating for summer nights; fireplace inside for winter cold. Good, wholesome food at average prices, too. Pasta made in the premises! And the desserts are great. Competent, friendly service.
