Montebello Design Centre offers a variety of art/craft classes in jewellery, painting, ceramics etc. Lovely, tranquil setting with a great gift shop and galleries. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch and is always busy, so I would advise booking. Mostly outdoor seating but a few small tables inside too. Fantastic breakfasts, brunches and lunches - licensed too.

This Cape Town well kept secret is situated just out CBD set in a beautiful tree-lined area. A variety of studios displaying excellent locally designed products, the cafe/restaurant provied a relaxed atmosphere and very good food and service.

Lovely food in a lush garden. Enhanced by local art and art studios where ongoing courses are offfered. Allow enough time to stroll around between lunch and coffee with sumptuous bakes.

Hmmm... I love being under the trees and just chilling. It's stunning from that point of view but for me the downfall comes in that the service is really bad and it's not clear which of the venues are for clients and which are workshops. Some purveyors get quite irate if you mozzie on in, so don't! Not if you... More

This is definitely away from the tourist path in Cape Town. Hidden in the middle of Newlands, which itself is the middle of Cape Town, sits this restaurant / art centre / converted stables. The place is fantastic and worth a visit. Huge trees cover the sky and provide shade and the (very white) clientele seems to be some of... More

I attended an art course at Les Charnock's art gallery and as a group we had lunch at the garden restaurant. It was located in a beautiful area and the food was very very good. Good friendly service and a delicious salmon salad had me set for coming back to eat there again.

There is a wonderful gallery of paintings by Lesley Charnock, and an interesting African artefact area, set amongst a forested area in Newlands

This is a lovely lovely place. There's a great bead jewellery shop, an art gallery where two artists and on site sometimes. There work is well worth going to see. One artist has some of her work printed on to canvas, the colour match to the original is very very close. I bought one as it was a very affordable... More

This is the place to find unique local pieces at good prices. Set aside some time to look at everything. I often find my christmas presents here, and its generally not crowded.
