What a lovely restaurant. Our previous encounter was not very good. It is under new management and what a delight. Our food was excellent , the service great and our Thai chef came out to the table to check whether everything was to our satisfaction. The Sushi Bar looked amazing. Definitely another visit to Royal Siam Thai is on the... More

It was rather a terrible evening as far as the weather was concerned; wind was howling, as well as it raining. Food was tasty, but did not wow me!

We had dinner at the restaurant on Saturday 11 February 2017 for our anniversary. Were received a very friendly and warm welcome by staff and they immediately set up a table for us, even without us having made a booking! The owner took time to personally greet and welcome us and also getting to know us, a wonderful gesture we... More

We were recommended to try this restaurant by our guest house in Swellendam. It was okay, the duck was plentiful and nice but not a patch on our restaurants at home.

The food here is quite good but very expensive for what it is. Beautiful view and wonderful deck to enjoy weather. SHOCKINGLY slow if not non existent service. We were seated for 30 mins before menus arrived, another 20 before drinks orders, we waited an hour and a half for our food - by then cold. Another 30 mins before... More

Service terrible even though restaurant wasn't busy. My drinks order never arrived. I asked for a mild curry, but it was still terribly spicy although it had good flavour, would've been delicious if it had less chilli.

We ordered dinner one night and thought it was amazing! Rice paper vegetarian spring rolls and a beautiful coconut curry. We loved it. Two days later ordered the same, plus a different curry. No flavor at all and even the spring rolls were dull. Different chef? We don't know, but we were so disappointed! The server helping us was great.... More

After a day of driving through the rain we drove directly to Royal Siam Thai for warm food and a cold drink, but all we found was an unwelcoming manager, who, in spite of the waiter's efforts to find us a table, basically kicked us out of the restaurant, even though there was an empty table. It's completely understandable that... More

What a delicious Thai meal! I ordered the What ever which was an amazing crispy pork belly served with vegetables and rice. The pork belly was crispy and so tasty. Although it was a good 40 min wait for my meal, it was worth every minute. The Salmon Sushi platter was also delicious and well prepared. Drinks are reasonably priced... More
