We enjoyed the traditional African food from the buffet lunch while in Soweto. The music created a very festive atmosphere and the dance performance was interesting to watch. It was a great break in our tour of the township.

We stopped in here as part of a Soweto tour. The food was good and ethnic and the service was excellent. The location is close to the Mandela house and Tutu's house. The street is full of vendors and food places.

As the meal option is buffet style this is a good chance to try small portions of food then pig out if you like it. Only thing I couldn't try was tripe. Just looks so nice but then the brain says NO. Very busy meaning the buffet is not sitting there all day and is fresh

Amongst my friends everyone was happy with everything they tried however I enjoyed all the accompaniments rather than the meat . Your buffet is set up in a Sowetan house , it's truly a different experience on the... More

Sakhumzi restaurant situated on the bustling Vilakazi Street in Soweto is a must visit for locals as well as visitors. This is where you experience the true South African vibe. You can sit there for hours enjoying the authentic, tasty traditional South African cuisine and drinks. Mandela House and Desmond Tutu's house are a short walking distance from Sakhumzi.

Sakhumzi lies just across the street when visiting Mandela House in Villakasie Street 8115, Orlando West, Soweto. It has a vast shadowy terrace and a friendly staff that is well trained in handling the stream of tourists at this place. The food is typical African: different dishes like curries and stews, salads and 'mielies pap' (corn porridge) are presented in... More
