We've been regular customers of Lotus Thai for many years. Recently the restaurant just lost its atmosphere. The food tastes more like fast food and service itself is not great. It seems more people are feeling this way as the restaurant will be almost empty on week nights. I really hope they can up their game and again become the... More

This was one of the best thai and sushi restaurant's for me. The staff was always friendy and the food amazing; with back ground that created a nice atmosphere. Now, the service is terrible. The sushi is time and again warm. The atmosphere is non existant. Hope they can pick it up again, because it was once an experience to... More

My first time visiting a Thai restaurant. It was lovely. The chef served us (my fiance and I) so well and was helpful in explaining the menu to us. I wouldn't vouch for their drinks lol. But hey, it's a Thai restaurant not a bar 😊. I'd definitely go back again if the opportunity arises

We visit this restaurant on a regular base. In May we were in Phuket for holiday and some restaurants serve the same type of food as Lotus Thai, so now we know this restaurant is authentic! Also the prices are similar in Phuket.

I arrived at 12:15, the chairs outside were leaning on the tables and it seemed like they weren't even open. The waitress was dressed in casual clothes and didn't look like she was on duty. I asked her if there was any specials, she told me there is the eat all you can sushi special that day, I asked one... More

When I used to go there, the waitresses were all dressed in Thai traditional clothes, and they had a great menu and I always enjoyed it. Now its all jeans, the menu is an old photo copy, but nothing tastes like it used to. I wished someone would tell me where the old chef went to.

Probably the worst Thai food I have ever eaten. Barely resembles Thai - chicken swimming in overly sweet canned sauces, identical (frozen? ) vegetables in each dish. We looked at Trip Advisor reviews before coming and cannot figure out where they came from. Horrid.

If you want an all you can eat sushi buffet, then this is the place. Delicious sushi and price is R135 pp. They have a big variety of sushi dishes and also fried goodies. Love the relaxed ambience of the restaurant.

Lotus Thai for me was definitely a tantalizing, mouth-watering, experience and definitely great bang for buck. The restaurant setting provided an innovative seating plan and the owners treated us like we were part of the family. The wide variety of Asian food and sushi was well presented, tasted absolutely scrumptious whilst the service was excellent which for me, are 3... More

Sad to say that we are moving on to find another Thai restaurant in Pretoria East since our last experience was just not good. The food is not authentic anymore and the only good thing is the service :(
