My dear friend celebrated his 65th birthday at this venue. What an evening. The staff's attention to detail and their wish for you to have a pleasant evening made our trip special. From the welcome at the entrance to the service at the table, the experience was top class. Great Hospitality!. The pre set menu was tasty and fresh. The... More

We visited this establishment for Valentines day, the cost was R650-00 per person, so the total came to R1430 which included the 10% tip. So with this price in mind we were expecting a lot. Reception on arrival was good, although for a upmarket place the parking area paving is treacherous for ladies in high heels. We were met with... More

We returned to Ala Turka after our fist visit 4 years ago. This time it was not as great. Decor is still very nice, it does create a Turkish atmosphere and ambiance. Colors are deep red, orange, maroon with bits of gold and bling. Belly dancers were good and entertaining. Notice that their cost is included in your bill as... More

Booked this place for our family new year get together which was our first in 17 years as we travelled from overseas. Setting was gorgeous. The girl serving us was attentive. The starter arrived. It was a few dipping sauces with one small flat bread each. It tasted nice enough but we were paying R450 per person so would have... More

Booked for new years eve for a family night. First impressions was good. And we were all excited. But this was short lived. As the food was so terrible. It was so salty that it was inedible. All 4 mains were sent back untouched. Then came deserts a sloppy mesh of sweet sticky goo. This was also sent back untouched.... More

Enjoyed a quiet evening with friends here. Eventhough it is slow season in Gauteng, they did not compromise on quality or service. The ambiance transported us back to Istanbul and I dare say the quality of the food rivals that in Turkey. Prices are steep but in line with restaurants in this class. 10% service fee is added to your... More

I have been to Ala Turka once before and it was amazing. The food was good, great entertainment. Great to smoke hubbly and sit on cushions, was really an awesome "Turkish" experience. However, I decided to take two of my close friends for dinner last night and was so shocked at the service we received. After being seated we ordered... More

What a mess. Pathetic service, food - total disaster. Staff not trained. Booking was messed up despite making it two month before the evening. It started badly and ended worse. One beer order took longer than 30 min and only arrived after asking twice - and when it arrived it was warm. Mains did not arrive together. One starter arrived... More

We were about 30 colleagues who had a work function at Ala Turks on a Tuesday night. Although they restaurant were informed that I'm vegetarian, their response was that I should just fill myself with the meze starters. Which I was forced to do, as well as eat the potatoes that were serve with the main meal. Boy, will I... More

Bad service, had to ask everything twice or 3 times, for instance a can of Tab, orders were wrong (e.g chicken salad when we ordered Greek salad). Then they have the cheak to add a tip to the bill on your behalf, you have no say in it. Then my son asks for a doggy bag, we get home to... More
