We love their Indian fare. Usually we order about 6 meals and share. Very delicious and attentive service. A must visit if you are close to Parktown North.

Apr 20 dinner: Decided on this place after searching for Indian places not far from Sandton. The ambience is nice with the walls adorned with white and black wallpapers. Among starters, had the paneer pudina tikka, tandoori tarkari, banjara kebab and prawns koliwada. Paneer was nice and soft and the pudina on the tikka was just right. The tandoori tarkari... More

When you see the place, you don't want to go in, but when you do, you will be surprised to found delicious northern Indian curries, naan and other nice curry things!

For the last few years Mantra has been out go to Indian cuisine restaurant. We hadn't been for sometime and popped in for a quick curry a few nights ago. The place has changed and not for the better. The decor used to be Indian themed and dimly lit, now its western themed and brightly lit. The place simply has... More

I haven't been to Mantra since they renovated last October. I prefer the old look but then again- we go there for the food. Which has stayed the same - same fresh ingredients, bold flavours fantastic! I got (take aways this time) paneer Tikka Masala, which had a rich tomato gravy- spicy rich with cloves and fresh firm rich paneer.... More

I often take people here, stating that it's one of my favourite Indian restaurants in Johannesburg. The food is delicious, but it is the decor that really turns the place into a fabulous establishment. The hanging lanterns, slightly dimmer lighting and intimate setting makes this a lovely place to unwind, go on a date or catch up with an old... More

Our year end Xmas function was hosted at Mantra , a little restaurant hidden away in the suburbs. A delightful spot with a menu that one would expect when visiting a Indian restaurant. What was different though is the direct family involvement which made a big difference to the quality of the food and presentation. The flavors and tastes were... More
