Many restaurants appeared to be closed the Sunday we stayed in Holbrook. The El Rancho restaurant was one of two recommended (we never found the other one). We were not impressed with the food or the service. The chicken burrito was dry and tasteless, the ground beef burrito greasy. The server was sullen and curt. The décor is aged. We... More

This restaurant doesn't look like much inside or out, but of all the Hispanic/tex-mex/southwestern food we ate during the month we were in the area, THIS WAS THE BEST BY FAR. I had an enchilada plate with green chilies, and savored every bite. My husband had an American dish he absolutely loved (liver and onions...yuck). And the staff couldn't have... More

The front desk person at our hotel recommended this restaurant for authentic Mexican food. Neither one of us is that fond of Mexican food but we decided to give it a try. Should have gone somewhere else. My husband ordered a tomato juice that tasted like watered down tomato sauce. It was undrinkable. I ordered the special of the day... More

Okay if you are into the older sites to see and visit on Route 66. Food was okay, nothing outstanding. The prices were very high, substantially more than we expected. Staff was friendly. Interior has not been updated in a long, long time.

From the outside it doesn't look like much - the sign is burnt out so you barely make out the 'el rancho'. Inside, nice Family atmosphere… Lots of locals come here. Big portions and typical Mexican American fair. We saw them sing happy birthday at a table and the kid got to wear a large sombrero hat... fun! Nothing fancy…... More

My wife and I have been customers of this restaurant for many years and whenever we get a craving for hot sauce and chips this is where we go (they make their own). The waitstaff are very attentive and the food has always been piping hot from the kitchen. We love this place.

Was recommended for front desk person at our hotel. 1960's vintage restaurant and it looks it: water stained ceiling tiles, worn furniture, etc. Server friendly and food was good. Up to you to try it or not.

Recently stopped here on the way home. We had the special with 2 enchiladas, rice, beans and sopapillas. It was excellent. Waitress was friendly. The chips and salsa (little hot) were very good too. The parking is a bit weird and hard to navigate if not sure where it is but we managed. Would definitely recommend. If it wasn't so... More

I have stopped here a few times over the years. They offer good food at good prices. The staff was great. They were working really hard and they are not spring chickens. The fajitas were well prepared. Good flavorful beef with grilled onions and peppers. Sopapias were included.

Delicious salsa on the table as soon as you sit down. Enjoyed a burger smothered in red chile sauce and topped with cheese and onions Left feeling blissfully full. They also have a sweet little gift shop with collectible knick knacks. Worth a gander!
