Visited whilst on holiday in the area and once again my son and I had a fab meal. The pub was really busy but we were served promptly and staff were really friendly. We always eat here and I highly recommend.

Went in for lunch with the family. I had fish and chips which was lovely - batter light and flavoursome. The roast chicken went down a treat as did the vegetarian option. Friendly staff and good service. Only downside, was the outdoor space which was either on a main road or down an alley.

We parked in the rear car park and entered on the side of the inn. There is a pub on the ground floor and a restaurant on the first. The venue is known as a curry house. We had our meal in the restaurant which is in need of refurbishment. The meal and service we had offset any visual problems.... More

TA prompted to book a Sunday Evening meal here. Extensive menu with many Curries to tempt but both of us went for the mains and desert Roast for 11.95. Beef with all the trimmings followed by Creme Brulee. Gorgeous. Talented young multi national staff team doing a cracking job. Highly recommended, well played The Royal Oak !

We were welcomed by a friendly employee and immediately directed to a table near a lovely fire. They had a varied gluten free menu, and a knowledge of what was important to my husband's peculiar diet. I chose a curry from an extensive Indian menu, as they have a Sri Lankan chef. We both had an enjoyable meal in this... More

This is a pub full of atmosphere serving great food superbly presented.. Our week staying at a cottage in Newport was made all the better by three fine meals at this lovely place .

Huge menu choice and serving all day, the only one that does in town. Very welcoming to children. Good value.

We arrived to a warm welcome and quick and efficient service. The Sunday lunch was generous in its serving, nothing pretentious about this food! Well cooked and served with a smile! We expected a cheesecake slice for pudding, but pleasantly surprised to have a delicious home made cheesecake. A lot of effort in homemade food and excellent service.

Tasty Sunday lunch and they're large portions so you'll definitely leave feeling full! We couldn't even fit in desert. Friendly staff. If we were nit picking, the only thing I'd say is not to dine upstairs.. it was cold and I spotted a few cobwebs, also as we were the only ones there (downstairs was busy so by no means... More
