I wanted to share a nice deal with some friends I hadn’t seen for some time and the truth is that we got the place fully right, although we were clear that we wanted to taste the rich and famous meat of avileña, we let ourselves be advised by the restaurant staff regarding the starters and the truth is that everything was delicious.
We tasted the excellent tossed potatoes and the crispy mulberry, absolutely delicious.
If the starters were good, the meat was exquisite, very good product in terms of quality, texture and taste.
We taste a chop to share between two and a sirloin.
To finish a delicious dessert torrija that we had to share as we were quite full of generosity in the rations.
If the food and atmosphere proved to be first class, it can not be less the attention we receive from Carlos and his team.
Definitely to return on the next visit to Avila.

Three different options, in our case, plate for two, with the option of chop, highly recommended!! Option for one person, also very good option or the offer of the menu, is varied, also has child options.
The attention of the staff and the presentation of the dishes make the stay in the restaurant very pleasant.

Delicious steakhouse! We stopped here for lunch during a tour and the experience was great. They have a small outdoor area with three tables (the waiter even rolled out the retractable awning for us). They served us fried chicharrón and bread to start, then a vegetable napoleon followed by a large steak. The portions are large so one appetizer and one main entree was perfect for sharing. Delicious food all around.

Normally I don't usually comment on restaurants anywhere, I only give my humble opinion to my friends or acquaintances! In this case I think it is necessary for other people to take it into account! This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of a good restaurant in Avila, where we had dinner the day before, because his place was full. We went for dinner on Saturday, September 23, 2023. At first, the place was very cool, everything new and clean, but there were only 2 tables with about 8 people each and ours with 2, which on a Saturday night seemed quite strange to me and Then I understood the reason! The room staff, I have to say, is attentive and friendly! We ordered some broken eggs with chopitos for the center which had the plastic strips inside the bug itself, I don't know if it can be removed but on other occasions we haven't had it in other restaurants, for the second my wife ordered the salmon tartare. which the salmon was quite salty and I had the beef tenderloin to the point that initially they brought it to me very rare and they had to cook it a little more and it was very very very heatty and the accompaniment was some potatoes that were made at noon or from the day before and they reheated them a little, the dish was brought out completely cold and of course the meat got cold in a short time, this dish costs €26, as I complained they had a detail and they charged me half of the dish, but even so I was quite disappointed! I ordered a glass of wine and they had it at room temperature and of course it was hot! Anyway it seemed like it was going to be one thing and it turned out to be another! They are constructive criticism so that they can try to improve because I think they can do it!

Reasonable closed menu and friendly staff.
To improve the wallows that are like watery and flavorless and the morel with apple... that does not enter even by the eyes to see it like this instead of shredded.
The chop was good (although we got a lot of fat) and we ordered it very little done. It was butter. The thing is that we got cold, and when we heated it was too old for our taste. Eye with temperature please

We ate 4 friends and it proved a disappointment. Very poor value for money. 50€/person. They took about 20 minutes to attend to us since we sat at the table. Little tasty wallows. Salad with excess modena syrup and lettuce with soil. The carpaccio was filled with sweet syrup that masked the quality of the meat, and was almost frozen.
Exorbitant price for a meal with so many failures with unremarkable service

We were traveling to Avila, we chose this restaurant randomly, I called to book and even though there was swearing and being full, they hollowed me out. Highlight Leo, very good and effective attention, excellent food all to the point and super good meats like butter and great flavor .of ten.
Super clean place and repeat very very good attention
I definitely recommend it.
Thanks from some Sevillanos

I go to this restaurant relatively often. Note that if you are looking for the classic and typical Abalone food, you will find it, in addition to the rest of the options, all of them of great quality. Stunning chop, both cow and veal. Extensive wine list and very cold beer. For dessert, I'd highlight your torrija. They also provide great service with kindness and speed. Its decoration, next to the wall make it unique.

Excellent! We were recommended and we liked it even more than what we had been told. The restaurant is small but very cozy, beautiful and the food is exquisite. Johnny/Jony attended to us and was very attentive, attentive and kind to us. The delicious meat (in the photo it is a little overcooked because that is how we like it), the very good appetizers and the special wine. We will return to Ávila because we loved it and without a doubt we will repeat.

After going a couple of times I can say that this place does not have a but: great variety of meats abulenses, good starters, very good chop, juicy meat, tender and with an incredible flavor.
Desserts are wonderful, both in taste and presentation. In addition, the service was excellent, with a close and attentive treatment that rounded off the experience. Fully recommended!

The tasting menu is a highly recommended option as you try some Abulense food: Boat beans, tossed potatoes, scrambled morel and then the ripened cow chop, for my taste perhaps looser flavor compared to those in northern Galicia, Asturias or Basque Country. However very well at the cooking point ordered. Special mention of great desserts. The attention by the excellent room staff, keeping times between courses, and always pending drink.

I felt like a scammed tourist. The meat with a lot of waste, dry and bad edges, and the measured thickness... the revolconas potatoes don't even come close, being a not very difficult dish, I understand. Other people had grilled vegetables, and carrot was sour! How is it possible. A disaster even though we went because of the good reviews. We will not have eaten in the same place or it will have changed owners, it is inexplicable.

Whenit was time for lunch on my first full day in Ávila, I headed down Calle Tostado to the restaurant El Viejo Marqués. I sat at a table against the wall, and ordered from the menú del día, as I try to do at lunch whenever I can. I started with judías del Barco de Ávila, a bean dish. I had seen judías on menus before, but I had never tried them; I'm glad that I did, they were excellent. For my segundo, I ordered the entrecot de ternera Avileña a la brasa, poco hecho (grilled rib eye that is certified as being from the province of Ávila, rare). The steak was perfectly cooked, a thin layer of fat along the edge, and flakes of salt sprinkled over it, and served with thinly cut potatoes. I was very happy with my lunch and asked what the dessert options were. As a note, menú del día usually consists of a first (starter) course, a main course, bread, a drink, and dessert or coffee. As the waiter listed the offerings, the one that caught my interest the most was the tarta de dulce de leche (dulce de leche cake), and that's what I ordered. It was amazing, sweet, with the perfect consistency, slightly crumbling, but not falling apart.
I highly recommend this restaurant. it´s a lovely little spoy, hidden from casual tourists.
As a note, while the restroom is gender neutral, the stalls are not, the markings are black on black, so they are a little hard to see.

With the multitude of restaurants, we stopped by chance at "Viejo Marqués", very good, the setting, the service and the food. We chose the feudal menu, very good from start to finish. Very generous (2 starters), the chuletón to share was a real treat, the divine dessert (Yema), the wines (by the glass) were excellent. We had a great time, the menu price is more than reasonable and Ávila is a very pretty city. I highly recommend.

Essential steak if you like really good meat. Taste and tenderness, authentic. Others in the area do not provide this quality, I have already tried a few.
My opinion is not to get involved with other menu items, the best is without a doubt the meat.
It is a rather small restaurant.
