We have eaten at the Tide Pool for years and have stayed there for Labor Day weekend for the last 2 years. The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and the café is warm and inviting with a great view. As a family, this is our favorite place to eat and spend time in Seldovia. When... More

Well we took the boat across from Homer and had a time limit with the boat to get back. Went here as there was room for 8 of us. The service was slower than slow. The food was great though. But we spent so much time getting food ( nearly 1 hour ) that we were nearly out of time... More

We were in Seldovia for an hour or so, hopping off for lunch from our Rainbow tour. We sought a quiet place to eat and drink something. This place is located close to the harbor, but it's not the first cafe you encounter. We enjoyed our lunch there. Pretty little cafe, OK.

We were here on a short stay with a ferry and they seemed overwhelmed by the number of tables they had at once. Usualy I am not in a rush at all on vaca, but we only had 2 hours so wanted to grab a quick lunch and see the town. We ordered the fish & chips, seafood chowder and... More

We ate here after we arrived on our tour boat. Nearly everyone on our boat ate here and I was nervous it would take too long, but they were on top of it. We got the fish and chips, which was really good. It's pricy, kids grilled cheese with fries is $10, but it's pricy everwhere.

If you've been to Seldovia for the 4th of July, you know that one of the biggest fundraising events is the rubber ducky race in the harbor. Tons of people crowd the shore to hope to win some cash and enjoy the 'excitement'. Well don't try to stand in front of the Tidepool, because they come out and tell you... More

Had best variety for breakfast menu when compared with Seldovia Boardwalk Hotel (only other Seldovia restaurant with full breakfast; maybe because of B&B around town). Generous portions. Hubby had Mount Augustine egg/hash brown dish -- smothered with ALOT of sausage gravy but he liked it. I liked how they visually showed the differences between mochas, lattes, etc. on a chalk... Visiting Seldovia in the "off-season", it was refreshing to find this restaurant open for breakfast! Food was wonderful, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Very cute inside as well, with unique tables showcasing glass tops with "tidepool" art created with local shells and sand beneath. Highly recommend!

The food & lodging is the best I've experienced in Alaska. Dean & Tamara Jackson put a lot of effort into taking care of their clients. We had a group of 8 people, and Dean actually ordered another bed frame just for us! That kind of personal care is rare, and most appreciative. One of my clients commented the Tide... More
