The restaurant is positioned a little back from the beach but still has a lovely outlook. There are additional tables and chairs on the grass and there were some people dining there as well. The food was delicious. I had an entree as my main...More

Five of us dined here and everyone enjoyed it. The location is lovely down by the beach. We just dropped it for lunch without a booking and it wasn't busy so our wait time wasn't long.

Gleaming white table cloths, contrasting red serviettes, if fortunate a table right adjacent to the beachfront, watching the wind rustle the tastefully illuminated coconut palm leaves between you and a tranquil lagoon;-if this sounds like you then Tamanu is your spot. We dined there twice, both...More

We came to Aitutaki for a fishing trip and stayed at Tamanu, so each night we showed up with fresh fish. Each time it was beautifully cooked (blackened mahi-mahi!!) and presented (yellowfin tuna sashimi). Breakfast buffet needs a little work though... And Vegemite - way...More

We have just spent 4 nights at tamanu and thought it was wonderful. Our unit was very roomy and comfortable, the bathroom was not quite perfect but serviceable. The food was divine and good value. Overall recommended

A lovely, great location, in a tropical setting. The accommodations were fantastic, clean, very spacious. Breakfasts were fruit based and yet offered variety. All equipment needed was provided from mask/snorkel to SUP's to glide over the fish and reefs of the outer lagoon. Whales were...More

The fruits, vegetables, fish are lovingly prepared in an authentic Aitutaki island way. Don't miss the Sunday BBQ Night - - or the Island Night with the traditional Cook Island Dancing.

Description
Tamanu beach has a beachside 60 seat Bar & Restaurant. We are open for breakfast lunch and dinner with a simple Island style menu. Our feature Island Nights every Thursday are a highlight of Aitutaki dining. Sunday is a relaxed family bbq buffet. The specials menu changes regularly with the freshest catch and seasonal fruits. We do pretty good coffee (getting better every day!) and our sunset cocktails are very tempting.
