Service was mixed. One waiter was really friendly, one was quite moody. Food was ok. I wouldn’t order the coconut curry again. It was very bland. The seafood cazuela was ok with the wine sauce. Some of the seafood was a little hard. The side...dishes are mashed potato or rice. I wouldn’t chose to repeat either dish again if I’m honest. It was also pretty expensive for the meal. Think the other sodas around give food that’s much better value for money.More

I dine here every time I am in Montezuma. Beach front dining at its finest. Italian dishes and seafood are outstanding. Authentic Italian dishes. Maxey has been in the business for 27 years. Best Pasta dishes in Costa Rica.
We had a lovely romantic dinner here. It fills up fast and there is good reason for that. They have a creative menu as well as the standard seafood you typically expect in Montezuma. The fresh mahi mahi with curry and bananas was delicious. Wine...offering is limited but still good. Raises you are on the beach! Enjoy the amazing sounds and views nestled in the palm trees. We went here for dinner on our last night before we had to travel home. This is our favorite restaurant in Montezuma. We had shrimp kabobs and the filet minon. Both were excellent. The service was also very attentive and the view is beautiful. Can't...wait til the next time we are here.More

Beautiful location and excellent service in Montezuma. We were greeted immediately and seated in a lovely area overlooking the sea. I have nothing bad to say about the service, menu or location. However, due to the fact I got terrible food poisoning, I had to...rate this place at a 2/5. 😞 Service was friendly and very efficient. Our margaritas were perfect! We then ordered the ceviche for a share appetizer. It was not what we expected as it was thinly sliced raw fish and served with fresh bread but certainly not the ceviche we’re used to (but not bad). We then each ordered beef fillets for dinner. My husband had his simply grilled and I decided to have the pepper steak. BIG MISTAKE! Although both tasted FANTASTIC, I ended up (with my pepper steak) waking up at 1AM with extreme food poisoning! I was vomitting for 6 hours straight and also had severe diarrhea. My husband and I had eaten everything exactly the same all day. Our only difference was at dinner when I had the pepper steak and that’s when I got violently ill. It all tasted fine at the time but clearly, something was not good with the pepper sauce. 🤮 I then spoke to a few other people staying at the same place in Montezuma, and learned that someone else also had sever food poisoning recently after eating the pepper steak. I’m thinking there may be some issues in the kitchen with keeping this pepper sauce “food safe”. So if you’d like a nice dinner out in Montezuma, Cocolores is a beautiful place with wonderful cocktails and service, but AVOID the pepper steak unless you don’t mind having sever food poisoning and losing a day of your vacation! Hopefully, all the other menu items are fine! 🙏More

The cocktails are great, the food is great, the staff are super-friendly and it’s got an unmistakable beach vibe off the beaten track. We had two great evening meals here and both were spot on. Delicious!
Would highly recommend to stick with seafood here - the seafood stew is amazing!, as was the ceviche. Friendly service, nice atmosphere. Would come back.
Most amazing Chicken in Curry banana I’ve ever had. The homemade bread, natural Papaya juice and Ceviche were delicious as well. Super friendly service!
Food was not good at all. We came here our first night in Montezuma because I saw a lot of good reviews. I ordered tomato spaghetti, pasta was half raw. My bf ordered carbonara, he said that is far from good Carbonara. Service was great...tho, they bring food relatively quickly.More

Enjoyed a really yummy meal after a fun hike to Montezuma falls. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating of our request for pinki shrimp grilled. The location is beautiful and the house cat is sweet 😻
