We went in april. The best deserts in the area. Good Service and clean. Best option for breadfast. Good location right there in downtown.

My husband and I recently eloped in Puerto Viejo and we purchased delicious truffles from Bread and Chocolate to have with our champagne on our wedding night. The cafe itself was bustling with activity when we were there, a very cool vibe. We unfortunately didn't make it back to taste any of their other menu items.

Bread & Chocolate is a great spot in the heart of Puerto Viejo The breakfast was very good and the portion was more than generous. It kept me going all day. The deserts are also fantastic one to-go was much appreciated that evening.

I really only eat granola, fruit and yogurt for breakfast and so I'm always on the lookout for some great granola and they had the best one I had in Puerto Viejo by far. The waitress was very nice and the place has a really great atmosphere as well.

The majority of our visit to Costa Rica, we struggled to find delicious food. Puerto Viejo was the exception! We had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Viejo, and the owner suggested we try Bread and Chocolate for breakfast the next day. We were so pleasantly surprised! Bread and Chocolate offers an amazing indoor/outdoor atmosphere and the best breakfast we had... More

Quiet, affordable and relaxing place to have food and some delicious coffee. If you're picky with food, this is a good place to go since most of the stuff on the menu is pretty non-threatening.

The food is aweosome. It's a bit expensive for a budget traveller like myself, but it totally worth it ! Everything is homemade and the taste is awesome. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because sometimes it gets really hot in there :( I still totally recommend this place!
