We ate two meals here-- dinner and breakfast and enjoyed both. The food was wonderful as was the service. Upon arrival, you are invited to browse the menu written on the wall-- which indicates that it changes regularly. There was a great selection. Dinner: Although I was dying to try the burger, I went with the tuna, which was great.... More

Enjoyed a dinner and breakfast while visiting with family who were staying at the Rip Jack Inn. Pros - very attentive and friendly wait staff; at dinner, I had grilled shrimp over a bed of hummus with pita on the side. An interesting combination that worked primarily because the shrimp were excellent. The following day at breakfast I had a... More

You must go. Best food in Playa grande. Exquisite tuna and stellar barbecue buger. And best tres Leches cake I have EVER had.

Everything about this place is amazing: the food was out of this world, the view was gorgeous, and the staff was wonderful. Eric, our favorite waiter and native Costa Rican, was simply delightful and the floor manager, Kelsey, was one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. My husband and I ate at the RipJack almost... More

Large selection. Lovely "treetop" location across from the Pacific. Owners and staff were very cordial and helpful. Food was of consistently good quality. Prices were reasonable for what you received. Service was exemplary. We were there for the Super Bowl and asked the owner about the arrangements. We were surprised with "reserved" seats that were the best in the house!

We went to RipJack twice while in Playa Grande, both times for their happy hour. The drink selection was great, and during happy hour (4-6pm), they are half price. We also ordered a couple of appetizers each time, and they were ok, but not the star attraction. Service was attentive and very friendly. I definitely recommend this for a pleasant... More

We went fishing and took our catch to Ripjack's for Chef Andrew to prepare. As usual he did a great job preparing the fish in a way that I specifically requested and that was definitely not on the menu. In particular I asked for our Trigger Fish to be pan-seared with a touch of garlic, butter and lemon and while... More

Stumbled on this place for lunch. The food was delicious and service was really friendly. Came back for dinner that same night, had Ahi Tuna - it was sooo good! Can argue the best Ahi I had in a long time. We liked this place so much we came back for breakfast on our last day in CR. Breakfast was... More

We stay here every chance we get. Great restaurant with fresh food. Hotel bungalows are great. Hammocks throughout the well manicured gardens between bungalows are awesome. The staffy is extremely friendly. Great base camp for all that Costa Rica has to offer

Great choices on the menu, fresh local food and friendly service. Not inexpensive but portions were large and value was good.
