This was recommended to us multiple times by our tour operators and taxi drivers so we decided to make a stop for dinner one night. Their ceviche (a special they had that day with shrimp and fish) and casados (both steak and vegetarian) were super...More

As in Costa Rica, the restaurant is a bit pricey but the food was great. It is not quintessential Tico food but it still serves a few traditional dishes. The fresh fruit juice was refreshing.

Typical Rain Forest Cafe experience. Walk in to over an hour wait, that's fine - we come for the experience and are expecting that. We were followed around by an overly eager host? who was trying to get us to sign up for the membership...More

Be careful - they charged us double the menu prices, they showed us prices in US Dollars and then charged us in colones - a $12 meal on the menu they charged 12,000 colones - nearly $24, they scammed us for each item like this

Typical local food. Be sure to have the "Typical Costa Rican" coffee service. Can be hot at mid-day, but all restaurants here are outdoors.

We ordered a Franch Toast and it was so ugly! So much cinnamon, and the waiter didn't agree to change it. He said "you still need to pay" And we didn't eat nothing from the dish!

We stopped for dessert and were faced with an array of delicious-looking treats. We had Tres Leches (a traditional Costa Rican dessert) and a chocolate cake topped with a chocolate mousse. Wonderful! Finished with a very good cup of coffee-better than I had at any...More

We enjoyed our typical CR meal (steak, beans, rice, plantains, potatoes) w/ an included "natural" beverage (flavor varies but today it was mango). Food was good. Service was quick and friendly. And total cost was 7700 colones (less than $14) for my husband and self.

Would anyone be able to get the recipe from here for their homemade hot sauce? It's in those plastic jars with the red lid on the table. We LOVED IT!

When we ate at the Rain Forest Cafe they served a condiment that was between a sauce and a salsa. It was fairly spicy. I think the cafe made it inhouse. I loved it but cannot remember the name of it. Can someone help me out please?

No I think it was red. It was more like tobasco than salsa. It had big slices of onion in it. Maybe peppers too.
