This was a very good, inexpensive local place. No english spoken here - it's for the locals. Food was really good, and cheap, no frills. Right in the middle of town, worth checking out if you want to get out of the tourist rut.

At this soda you don't need to stick to the typical casados. Get some nice fresh salad, fish or other options - all is fresh, tasty and delicious!

if you are spending time in this wonderful town, don't miss this gem. For a very low price, you will get excellent food. If you try the "casado", you won't be disappointed with the portion size, homy feeling and, again, very affordable price. 2 or 3 blocks from the main square, this restaurant is always filled with locals, and they... My sons and I enjoyed a very good lunch at Soda Ara. The small restaurant was very comfortable, the waitstaff attentive and it was filled with locals. My vegan son had the casado vegetariano, my other son ate casado pollo and I had a bowl of soup, sopa ranchera. We found the food prices about what we had already experienced... More

Went here on a tip from a local. Glad we did, a bit hard to find. Its about 3 blocks from the main square. Very friendly service, huge plate of food for 2700 colons and really healthy and tasty. I tried the Horchata, that was good too. There is a desert at the cashier stand for 250 colons, can't remember... More

We passed by this soda while looking for a breakfast place off the beaten path. The restaurant is very clean and the service is attentive. The menu is bilingual but the ladies spoke no English; we ended up with a wrong dish by mistake so we should have just pointed to what we wanted. I had the pinto con huevoes... More

We know fortuna in and out. For the best food period, come here. The prices are very low! The food is so good and fresh here that we found ourselves eat here almost ever day. For a family of 3 you can pig out for around $20.. Best option for fast food. They have buffet(cafeteria style) food ready to go... More

Wandering through La Fortuna we stumbled upon this gem! On the back side streets filled with locals. Best Soda in La Fortuna.

Good food but not great. Good service but not great. You get what you pay for. I would recommend it for someone who does not want to spend that much on lunch.

We spotted this soda whilst looking for a bank. There were loads of locals making a beeline to this place which is always a good sign. We opted for casados the usual Costa Rican combination plate consisting of rice, beans, salad, yuca chips and an entree which cost 3,000 colones each and comes with a delicious drink of your choice....
