VISIT: DECEMBER 2014 This review is long overdue. We booked a tour with Mattias thru his coffee website. We met at his store in downtown for a comprehensive coffee lesson and tasting. Then a Fig Frappe for the road... off to one of his coffee plantations. There we learned about the plant, bean, earth and growing cycle. My family, including... More

Sandra, hi! wow, it has been a while since i saw you. I hope your trip ended on a high note. Thank you very much for your review, it is such a good review that Trip Advisor thinks it is FAKE but what do they know, right?!! They are not used to people getting reviews like mine. :) Thanks again... More

We stopped by here while waiting for our chocolate tour and had some amazing coffee and chocolate covered coffee beans. Even my daughters had fun learning about the coffee.

Matties, the owner, is a third generation coffee farmer and exporter with a vast understanding of coffee. We spent a few hours here with our two teen sons during his 6 pm daily coffee lecture.

The cold brew was great but that was all that was available. It appears only the owner is able to operate the espresso machine and so no other versions of drinks were obtainable on a Monday.

Janet, hi. Sorry i missed you when you came to the shop but i had to go to our highlands farm 180 miles away. We are in the middle of the harvest and even though i have trusted employees there i always like to keep an eye on it. Glad you enjoyed our Straight Iced coffee. Just a note about... More

Where to begin? Mattias the owner is knowledgeable, passionate and a general good time to be around. We enjoyed our many visits to his store. We sought this out as soon as we arrived to La Fortuna as it came highly recommended from a guide in the Manuel Antonio area that we really liked. So we found it and our... More

We stopped for a quick coffee and had a chat with the owner who was rally passionate about coffee. We loved e taste of the coffee we were given and ended up buying a bag to take home. Really relaxed atmosphere and a good place to stop and people watch.

Lady B, hi. thank you for your review, happy to hear that you perceived a good vibe from us. Since your visit we have relocated and i am happy to tell you that the view of the coffee shop is a small coffee plantation, that way you can keep an eye on the growing beans. Best regards. More

Matias and his daughter greeted us warmly in this family-owned coffee shop. Each of us tried coffee in its many forms: hot, iced, coffee shakes, and liqueur. We even bought some coffee beans from his family farm and can't wait to try the different roasts. Very friendly, honest, and informative!

We were enthusiastically welcomed to this coffee shop by Mattias and his daughter. We just stopped by for coffee, but ended up with a great conversation, a lesson on different roasts, and some friends who we already connected with on instagram. Highly recommend this spot for some great coffee and conversation!!

We had a great time in Matias's coffee shop. He shared lots about his coffee and made an excellent espresso cortado. We all enjoyed him immensely and purchased several bags of coffee. He also called a taxi for us one night when we couldn't find one in La Fortuna due to it being a busy night.

Description
We have moved from our downtown Fortuna location to the property where we have our plantation and do the Coffee tour. Come visit, just 2 miles/3 kms away from the old location.

To get there simply take 702 out of Fortuna and make a right on Avenue 301 which is the road to the Fortuna Watefall. We will be on your right hand side, immediately before the Rainforest Chocolate Tour site, about 0.5 miles/800 meters from the intersection.
