Good breakfast food. Eggs however you like including poached. Grits good, add butter for the best flavor. Country ham center cut is personal favorite. Waits can be long at peak times. Historical in that Bear Bryant frequented this establishment.

This is probably THE BEST breakfast I've ever eaten. Amazing beignets, biscuits and pancakes. The staff is amazingly friendly and service was great.

Visiting my granddaughter at school in Tuscaloosa, we gladly waited almost an hour on a Saturday morning to cross the old wooden floor to a back table near the walls covered with photographs of famous moments in Alabama football history. There, we were served the most delicious southern food for breakfast: grits, eggs, bacon, potatoes, wonderful coffee and biscuits not... More

Parking is in back and kinda hard to find and they are not open on Monday. But the effort to find them is well worth it. They make the most wonderful, soft, warm, fresh little southern biscuits! The place is also covered in Univ. of Alabama memorabilia. We ate at a table with the bust of Paul "bear" Bryant! The... More

Don't miss the Waysider when you are in Tuscaloosa. The breakfast is delicious with homemade biscuits, pancakes, grits, eggs, ham, bacon and more. Lunch is also delicious. Get there early or plan to wait!

Amazing biscuits and even better beignets! They make absolutely wonderful tomato gravy, and the hashbrowns are one of a kind! The restaurant is charming and fits Tuscaloosa perfectly. A must go in Tuscaloosa!

I had to stop by Waysider for breakfast on Friday before the Miss St. game. I walked in with no wait on a Friday. Enjoyed reading the community "Tuscaloosa News" as I waited for my wonderful coffee, biscuits, scrambled eggs and plantation sausage. My grits were not hot but good. Several football coaches were eating and many locals. It is... More

On a game weekend go early to be seated quickly. Around 8 the line grows and soon you will have moderate to long line to get in. I had vine ripe cantaloupe, two eggs scrambled with cheese - they were firm but moist and wonderful. I had their wonderful plantation pork split link sausage it was like a step back... More

We decided to go here because when you ask anyone who is a Alabama fan The Waysider is on their go to list of restaurants. We waited only 20 mins on what we thought would be crazy place to get a seat after a game day in Tuscaloosa. While waiting outside I needed some coffee. They were happy to oblige.... More

I hesitated visiting here for breakfast after reading the reviews until I realized the crowds are on weekends, especially on game days and when there are UA events. Weekdays are not crowded at all. Service was leisurely, but warm and friendly. My coffee cup was always full and my food was perfect - even my "over hard" eggs. There were... More
