We had a terrific meal here at a very good price. The atmosphere was cozy, service was great. But the name on the sign said “Sichuan Childe”. The location however was exactly where the “Sichuan Citizen” was supposed to be located.

Delicious spicy Sichuan restaurant, popular with ex pats and locals alike. Best green beans around! Their basil drops live up to the hype and the prawns are my favorite.

Stopped here for dinner with some co-workers and enjoyed the atmosphere and entrees. Relaxed atmosphere with decent decor. Even a couple of beers on tap. Food was good, although a bit more spice would have been nice.

We very much enjoy Sichuan food and had seen good reviews but this was beyond bad. Crispy duck was dry and tasteless ... no breast just bony bits of wing and unidentifiable bits with no flesh. Do they starve their ducks? Caramelised black pepper beef...More

I was there for business dinner. But the food was amazing. As well as the environment. It has rooms which you can have your dinner in a reserved area. Even though I was a little afraid I tried the jellyfish and loved it! Ask for...More

This place is nice, well known among ''laowai'' community and tourists. The food is ok, nothing special. It's too noisy inside. The Basil drop cocktail is good.

Former French Concession
While there are technical borders to the area formerly
governed by the French in Shanghai, the "French
Concession" of today is an amorphous neighborhood that
is a favorite of the city's foreign residents. While
it is mostly within the Xuhui district, residents will
sometimes include parts of Jing'an and Luwan in their
mental maps of the Former French Concession. The area
seems frozen in time, characterized by quiet,
