The coffee bar is well located, looks really Italian, but the price of the coffee seating at the table was the highest in Xintiandi, out of market

I have used this restaurant for a business meeting before lunch time and this restaurant is easy to find, provides very good service, is very comfortable and has a good and sufficient food selection. In front of the restaurant you easy can catch a taxi and the surrounding area is nice to walk through.

To sit inside there is a different price list for drinks ))) so Americano will cost you 65 RMB with your good looking but tasting just OK Tiramisu( presentation is awesome by the way) which is around 95RMB. So do I recommend? No. May be try one in Rome, I am sure coffee will not taste like 7eleven one. But... More

Xintiandi is worth the visit and an expresso at Cova is a must. Tight at the entrance eof a nice pedestrian street, the place looks like Milan. Decoration, atmosphere are just similar. When you want to feet some western flavor in a very chinese city it is defiantly the place to sit. Cakes and pastries, cafe and chocolate are just... More

I've been a fan of Cova for a long time now, so was delighted to have the chance for them to cater my birthday party. Not only were the foods delicious, and beautifully presented, but the service was also truly excellent. There is nothing I would have changed, and highly recommend them to any other person considering catering companies for... More

I am Coffee enthusiast and have tried Coffee and Hot Chocolate where ever I've travelled to. Usually I prefer the local cafe to enjoy the local flavor. This time I was accompanied by a colleague who recommended Cova Cafe at the Xintiandi. And I feel so good stopping there and enjoying the best coffee and hot chocolate ever. Yes, its... More

We have been to Xintiandi many time, but this is our first time to Cova here. We have enjoyed the food, especially afternoon tea, at Cova Hong Kong many, many times. So we expected a great deal from Cova in Shanghai. Unfortunately this is a small shop, which I don't think offers afternoon tea buffet as the Hong Kong Cova... More

I am not new to expensive coffees. I have tried most cappuccinos in Shanghai's 5 star hotels. They usually disappoint, but service and setting make up for them. They don't at Cova. With prices like these, it is abnormal to have staff who doesn't speak English, and even more unacceptable that the coffee arrives cold (maybe they had a hard... More

My 2 friends and I went to Cova on a Sunday evening for coffee, and we each order a drink (hot chocolate, tea, and cappucino) which costs us CNY 245 (around USD 40) inclusive of the 15% service charge. So on average, each drink costs around USD 13, which is quite expensive, and of course one would expect some decent... More

Staying in Xintiandi

Neighbourhood Profile
The refurbishment of a block of old shikumen into a carless entertainment center called Xintiandi, filled with restaurants, shops and bars, turned this area below South Huangpi Road into one of Shanghai’s most fashionable areas. Luxe condos house people who can afford the high-end brands that fill the malls and shops along Madang Road. The pleasant Taipinghu Park provides the area with green space and is also home to Shanghai Fashion Week twice a year. It’s not all glitter and glamour, though, as the rise of Danshui Road has given the Xintiandi area a shot of toned-down character. Small bars and cafes, mostly owned by locals, have people hanging out in a formerly quiet, unassuming part of the neighborhood.
