Called in with the intention of having an uncomplicated meal and a few drinks. Didn't disappoint at all. Not sure about the karaoke room, but didn't really bother us in the main bar. Good atmosphere, if a bit smokey. Pizza and chips for dinner hit the spot

Music in the bar horrendous, who wants to hear jazz on a Saturday night. Food and views better than average. With a good band or dj this place could be as good as anywhere in the world. Does the owner like jazz or is he devoid of intelligence ? What a waste.

I've been at Bund 30 in mid Sptember 2012. I ordered a Salad and it requested 30 minutes to see it. There where other 5 people only in the bar. The food was horrible. The place is ok if you are looking for a beer.

Is this place cheap?  No. Is the food to die for?  No. But it is friendly and clean?  Yes, in abundance. If you are on the north end of the Bund, this place is a great stop for western style food, atmosphere and drinks. Plus, they take credit cards!  (which is a rarity in China. )

This bar was very close to our hotel - The Broadway Mansions, and we preferred it here than the hotel bar. We had pizza here which was fine. They serve European lagers on tap and the music was mostly Western pop with Olympics highlights showing on the TV. Not cheap - but we didn't find many places that were in... More

We read good reviews about this place so we thought we would try it. The menu is small with 4 choices of pizza, steak, soup and pasta. I had a pizza which was meant to be like a supreme but it was full of cheese and not much topping very disappointing. My husband had steak and chips and the steak was a... More

This super little Bistro is located about 100m from the Waibaidu Bridge and the Bund itself. There is a great range of food and drinks, including a good range of western style meals and imported beers. My favourite is the Vegetarian Pizza on a thin base, and a Boddingtons beer. I often go to Bund 30 when I am in... More

We were looking for a Western style restaurant during our stay in Shanghai and discovered this place during a walk near our hotel. The bar is split into restaurant and bar areas. The food was good and the menu had steaks, pasta dishes. The wine list was OK if a bit expensive (230 RMB for a fairly typical white wine). The... Staying in Hongkou

Neighbourhood Profile
History oozes out of every fiber of the city, but Hongkou is a particularly notable neighborhood. Shanghai was a safe haven for about 20,000 Jews during the Second World War, and traces of this heritage can still be found in buildings and park monuments. Historic foreign relations aside, this neighborhood throws you into traditional Shanghainese life without taking you too far away from the city center. Some of the city’s best-preserved, ancient longtangs (laneway communities) and shikumen (Shanghainese lanehouses) are still in use as actual residences here. If you like to be surrounded by local faces, Hongkou is a great area to spend your time in. The football stadium, Duolun Lu and the North Bund area await should you need some entertainment.
