Dumplings are great, so is a lot of street food all over this area. Go here if you don’t really know where to go and just want a good spot like I did.

For all the hype, these dumplings were barely adequate plus no vegetarian option. Service was good and it was also quick but I've had better in other areas of China as well as back in Australia.

Bit of an odd place. You pay and pick first, then use your receipt to collect your dumplings through a little window, then carry them to your table. Tried all three types of fried dumplings. The pork were good, the vegetable ok, and the prawn...More

Following a friend's recommendation, we first had the Jia Jia Tang Bao dumplings from across the road before trying these. Jia Jia had a long queue while Yang's did not. Both were excellent and quite different. I liked Gang's better, because it was more unique....More

We got a box and ate the juicy pan-fried pork dumplings (4 pieces) while waiting in the queue for 佳家 汤包 eatery (steamed dumplings) that was on opposite side of the road. Think there is also shrimp version. A short walk from Shanghai Marriott City...More

I mostly went here with Chinese friends. Ordering in English is a problem, but you can always point at the photos on the menu. Needless to say, these dumplings with soup, are excellent! Something to try for sure!

Based on Tripadvisor rave reviews, this was a must do for our short stay in Shanghai and did not disappoint. There is a lot of scaffolding outside the cafe at the moment but it is still open.

I know every tour guide touts Yangs, but we were no so impressed. Not saying Yangs was bad, but the bao insteamers are not so greasy and are juicier--you'll find them in other places.

For anyone else that receives a request to answer the "question" above- I copied it and put in on a translator app and the writer is asking for the dumpling dough recipe from the restaurant!
