Small restaurant with wonderful fresh seafood. Servings were nice size. Fried pickles were excellent.

The restaurant has had rave reviews. If oysters are your favorite, you will not be disappointed. However, when asked if they were locally procured, the waitress could only say that,"We are told they are from the Gulf". The shrimp and grits was terrible! It was like a big bowl of melted Velveeta with a few grits thrown in and a... More
Hubby and I wanted some fried oysters for lunch. He had the Oyster Poor Boy and I had the fried Oyster Basket. They were fried crispy and his plate was full. I had 8 fried oysters on my plate, but would have liked a few more! The service was very good and we were served quickly.
If you like oysters you will not be disappointed eating here. Of course there is other food on the menu beside oysters. The staff is very friendly and very attentive to refilling your drinks. i did start with the gumbo and that also was very tasty. I am coming back here again .
Great food and great service every visit!!! We will always stop there when we are in town. The lunch specials are all great deals. Shrimp and grits is one of my favorites. My daughter loves their big hamburger. They have something for everyone!
Service was good, I ordered fried oysters which I love. However, they were overcooked. The breading was hard which was disappointing.
If you are going to be in Saraland or Mobile AL Wintzell's is a must the oyster sampler is wonderful. Also there is many signs to read on the walls with all kinds of sayings. I thought the price was medium and the quality was great. The char-grilled oysters is almost as good as Acme oyster house in New Orleans.
This place was a real disappointment. I had a bacon wrapped shrimp dinner which was hyper salty. The shrimp were quite small and the recommended fried okra was equally bad.
We love to have oysters and a pitcher of beer when we visit Wintzell's. The atmosphere is fun and the game is always on. We enjoy the servers who are young and sweet. Managers are always around to check on you and do care how things are.
