We visited Mobile a few days ago and on the return to Florida, snuck off our route to this delightful culinary experience! Our server, Mashall, was fantastic in assisting us with choices and telling us about this fantastic restaurant and it's preparations of foods. We were 4 of us and truly enjoyed all the courses from appetizers to dessert. We... More

Recommended by locals, friendly staff and calming interior. Patio dining also outdoors. Simply served but excellent cuisine. Staffed from local cuisine school - nice to see the excellent results. A gracious and relaxing vibe with a chef who served us local sausage as a side dish so that we could taste it. Will make this a stop each time traveling... More

Generally good food. Chef directs some interesting dishes at times. Last visit had the salmon small plate. Was as good as any I have had. Nicely cooked. For a restaurant dedicated to training staff and chefs I am amazed at what comes out of the kitchen at times. Always some interesting twists. Not so much of a great selection of... More

We had heard wonderful things about the Kitchen on George, so we were excited to try it for lunch last Saturday. We got there after 2 and were pleasantly surprised they were still seating. There was a bad smell at the hostess stand, but when we were walking to our seats the air cleared. We were originally taken to an... More

The food was excellent, however, the shrimp on the shrimp and grits were small and few. The pasta Jambalaya was killer as was the Ponchatran catch of the day. For the price, and to compare to the excellent food, the service should have been impeccable. Instead, we were not asked if we wanted another glass of wine or cocktail, there... More

This was our second, and probably final, visit to Kitchen on George. We first chanced upon this gem two years ago and it was a terrific surprise! The service was excellent, as was the food. We were sadly disappointed during this visit. The service was still excellent, but the food fell short. In the time since our last visit, the... More

I was very fortunate to have the Sunday brunch without a reservation. We took a nice long walk through the historic district and showed up at the right time! It reminded me of a Seinfeld show a wedding party was a no show and we were first on the walk in list. After they filled the party of 12 that... More

Have eaten here many times for lunch during the week. Never needed a reservation. The Japanese okra (tempura okra) is an excellent appetizer. If you get there early enough, ask for their fried chicken. They usually sell out, probably because its so good. It is less greasy and has a lighter batter than other fried chicken that i've had, but... More

We've dined here twice on journeys through Mobile. A quaint setting in a neighborhood is part of the charm. The food is outstanding and served in a warm setting, with great personnel. The manager/owner has been present both times and greets his regulars & newcomers too. Small plates, nicely presented, deliver big flavor. A very decent wine selection is a... More

Nice atmosphere and good food. My husband ordered a bowl of soup $8 and a Caesar Salad $8. He was satisfied but I thought it was not that much food for $16. The Salmon and Brie Salad was very good and should be for $15. Only complaint was that they did not serve any bread with the Salmon and Brie... More
