Tried the suckling pig as it was highly recommended. Very crispy and nice but slightly expensive at 238 RM. The other dishes are abit salty though. Recommended to go with chinese tea.

Good service and lovely Chinese food. The restuarant has parking attached The staff are customer focused. They produce a lovely Yer Sang during Chinese New Year. My favourite.

Despite the expected crowd for Chinese New Year family Reunion Dinner, service was not bad. We were seated on the upper floor and probably one of the first few arriving. However as with most restaurants catering for the mass market during CNY, the food was bland and tasteless. Road side parking was easy - if you don't drive, it will... More

We made the dinner reservation 2 months ahead. The place was packed as it was the Chinese New Year. Food served was ok despite the crowd. The roasted suckling pig was good. We expect an even better quality of food on other non festive days. Will come again if we are in Melaka.

Food is generally nice during my first two visits, especially its codfish! The only limitations to Bei Zhan is that it can get very crowded, so do make a reservation if you want to avoid disappointment, especially during Chinese New Year period. I just visited it a third time. The mongolian grilled mutton and crispy pork slices were superb. However,... More

Searched for decent place to eat on Tripadvisor. Was wary of usual inconsistent standards on reviews. However, this was a most pleasant surprise! 6 of us had the asam patin fish (superb!), an egg omelette, braised beancurd with bean stick, braised pork with buns (could have been slightly more tender, but good all the same), fried brinjals (good!) and fried... The restaurant is renovated with a modern twist, preserving what was historic and special before. The food are very fresh and very nice. The Assam Prawns I had was also delicious, with the shells peeled, so no fuss to eat! The seafood are all very fresh given that Melaka is a seaport itself. The service was prompt as well. Overall... As we make last leg of our food binge trip up north and then down south, we have decided to go spartan on our usual pit stop at Beizhan. We just go basic on hor fun and fried rice. Hor fun had a tinge of burnt smell but the fried rice is interesting with a scattering of wolfberries. The garlic... More
