The Admiral Restaurant chalkboard scam is still going strong. We saw the prices on the chalkboard, mussels for €6.80 and based on that chose a lovely table and ordered wine. Of course when we tried to order the well priced mussels, sorry no mussels and...we finished up with expensive sea bass. The next evening we waited outside until the waiter came to help us and we pointed directly at the chalkboard and said, are you serving mussels tonight? This caught him and his mind was racing, "YES" he mumbled. Knew it, and we calmly went elsewhere. Shouldn't be allowed, it's a scam.More

Nice location and view of the islands. Service disorganized, improvised. Tried the spaghetti with mussels. Pasta was of poor quality, as much as the execution.

Driving along the stunning coast of Croatia north of Dubrovnik, we zipped right past traffic clogged Kotor with its gargantuan cruise ships and hordes of tourists, and found the charming town of Perast and the Hotel Admiral with its restaurant on the water. Our room...was clean and up to date, with a balcony view of the bay. The price was reasonable and the service was attentive. They sent a golf cart to collect us and our luggage from the car park, as only locals are allowed to drive in Perast. They were also helpful in helping us arrange a motor launch boat out to a nearby island. Breakfast was included and delicious.More

We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights & ate at the restaurant every morning for breakfast and twice in the evening. We dealt with 2 ladies on reception at the hotel who were both lovely & really helpful when we were looking to explore...nearby areas. We also returned twice to the restaurant because the waiter was really friendly, the service was great & the food was good value for money. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because the water pressure in the shower wasn't great & the mattress was harder than I would usually like but we really enjoyed our stay here otherwise!More

The food was tasty, the prices are lower than in neighbor restourants, but the plate with my food was cracked. I noticed that at the middle of having meal, and it was very unpleasant. We asked an officiant: is that ok that plate is cracked?...We expected changing of the dish, but there were no even excuse. He just shrugged and go away...More

One of the first restaurant/hotels you come to when you walk down from the car park on the Kotor side of Perast. A selection of dishes with incredibly reasonable prices is shown by the entrance. And it looks pretty surrounded by the sea, so we...decided to eat here with our young adult son The waiters were quite helpful and friendly to begin with but then the experience went rapidly downhill. Most tables got paper napkins although the hotel guests appeared to have proper ones. The (quite nice) bread arrived but had been cut up too far ahead and was dried out around the edges. Half the dishes were unavailable - in fairness it is seasonal but we weren’t warned, and most of the prices were a good deal higher than the sample ones at the entrance. We had to keep our cutlery for the second course because ‘we don’t have enough to change it’. We ordered the fish platter and a plate of bruschetta to start with and a main each to follow. All around us other people’s food arrived but still not ours. Eventually the bruschetta came - two rounds of sliced white supermarket bread with a scattering of tomato and strong raw onion. The waiter eventually apologised for the fish taking so long - the kitchen had done some other things first. It finally arrived - the fish pate seemed made of tinned sardines and the octopus salad had pieces of raw tentacle in it. We thought that was odd but we are quite adventurous and shared it all between us. It was the only dish we all shared all day - otherwise we all had separate dishes for lunch and dinner and our own breakfast of fruit and yoghurt at our AirBnb. By the end of an epically indifferent meal we just paid and left. On the way back to Budva my husband said he felt out of sorts. He started throwing up at about 11pm. My son followed at 3.30 am and I at 6.10am. We have had to spend the last day of our holiday in bed feeling wretched. Thank goodness it wasn’t just before our flight. I realise that it is not always possible to prove where food poisoning comes from but it did seem directly related to sharing this one dish. The fish plate seemed difficult for the restaurant to produce taking a really really long time to be cobbled together, and had raw octopus in it. The restaurant seemed understaffed and shabby and we definitely won’t be going back. All in all it was the worst experience we’ve had eating out in Montenegro.More

Off hand staff, half the items on the menu not priced or available. Made to feel stupid when asking for more info on what was included or available. There are much better places nearby for similar money and much nicer atmosphere

Stopped in for lunch and took 20 minutes of waiter avoidance before we could grab ones attention. Then told there were three orders ahead of ours. God only know what they would do if busy.
