Had an excellent lunch at the restaurant royally entertained by a Peruvian singing group. It was self service and you could go back as many times as you wished. You could also have as many soft drinks as you wished particularly good was the Inca Cola which was gorgeous and refreshing

I want to start out by saying that I am not easily offended and can normally roll with the punches for vacation bumps in the road. However, I was appalled this Hatuchay hotel/hostel was chosen for our Thanksgiving Day stay in Aguas Calientes, Peru. The stay was booked through a tour group called KB tours through the Clymb website. There... More

We stayed here for one night and our room had a balcony with a great view. The rushing river below provided a relaxing sleep after the strenuous hikes of Machu Picchu. Dinner was complimentary. My friend and I ordered the alpaca steak which was decent. Neither of us had ever had it before so I can't really compare their version... More

We were booked at El Mapi but sent to Hatuchay due to construction/overbooking of our rooms-it was a major disappointment in every aspect. Our upgraded room had 3 beds crammed in, was dark and smelled moldy. Bathroom had very damp, moldy smell and a large hole in the wall under the sink, which had no light over it. Dinner (included)... We arrived here after a wonderful tour of Macchu Pichu in the evening to find that our room was cold and damp ( next to the river) and were disapointed with th set menu that evening which was too bad to eat - heated-up and unappetizing. Later I was ill and spent next day feeling awful.

We arrived exhausted after the tour of Machu Picchu and was grateful for a quick clean up at the neat washrooms. Food was warm and nice and the service was really nice. WE had the buffet lunch as part of the tour package. We visited in March 2012.

Location, location, location! I would rate this a 3.5-4 out of 5. The hotel was clean and the service was good, but this hotel most benefits from the fact that it is situated so near the bus and train, that you don't have to guess with time and tours. The bed in our room was huge, but we did not... More
