Yes, the way up is a bit adventurous and some corners on the way up may not be up to European standards... But the family that runs the restaurant is very friendly, the food is very good and always freshly prepared and the shakes are probably the best we've had in Thailand. If you like, you can choose a fish fresh from the bed of ice and have it prepared for you and if you get there before dark you'll have a breathtaking view. We were lucky enough to vacation on Ko Tao twice this year and ate here very often, we absolutely recommend it!

A restaurant where you shouldn't rely on the first impression, as the path to the restaurant on the 2nd floor is a bit of an adventure. Once you get to the top, you'll find very friendly and family-like service, a great view and fantastic food at very fair prices. We were here several evenings in a row because everyone in the family loved it. Highly recommended.

The climb up here is, as many have described, adventurous and steep. The ruins on the roof terrace of which the restaurant is located have to be overcome. The family that owns the restaurant is very friendly and the food and the view justify every effort to come up here. Super tasty and inexpensive. A meal here costs as much as a beer at the hotel resort on the beach! Really a delicious adventure

Fresh fish of the day is barbecued to perfection in this friendly roof top terrace restaurant, at very reasonable prices. You can inspect the fishes and choose one you like. Vegetable curries are also excellent. A short walk uphill opposite Jamahkiri resort entrance.

By far the place where we ate best in Koh Tao. Simple place, nice terrace, beautiful view. All unexpected because the path to get there does not make great promises, on the contrary we thought it was closed and abandoned.... We wanted to have an aperitif first, while deciding whether to dine there one of the family arrived in wet costume bringing the freshly caught fish. We stopped for dinner and did very well. Really great grilled fish, perfect cooking. Very kind staff. Really recommended

Follow the sign from the road opposite the entrance to the Jamahkiri resort, and then first think that you have taken the wrong path, that there cannot be a restaurant here, up the stairs, where does this go? This goes to the restaurant with the most beautiful view on the entire island! Wow, breathtaking. Order a delicious fresh fruit shake and enjoy the view. You can also order all kinds of food here, freshly prepared and served with a smile. Delicious. If you have been to Koh Tao then you must have been here to complete your visit.

The most memorable seafood meal you will have on Koh Tao. Yes, it's difficult to get to. Most of the things you've valued in your life were. The seafood here is incredible. If there are 4 of you, for 200baht each (obviously more if less of you), you can get: - A whole, huge fish, caught that day, BBQ, with various sauces (garlic & lemon, soy, etc), salad and grilled onions - Seafood pad thai with more squid and shrimp than any seafood pad thai I've had anywhere - Fantastic shakes You can ride scooters up the steep street and driveway right to the base of the staircase to the rooftop restaurant with incredible views of Freedom Beach and other bays. Well worth the trip.

Nice café with a nice view. I liked the food, it's weird that some people don't. Maybe it's those tourists who don't like Thai cuisine. We love it, so we're looking for small cafes like this with local cuisine. And there's a two-in-one view!

As a previous review helpfully stated, this place is tricky to find. I would also point out that it is rustic to say the least and we found ourselves missing the second set of stairs on our way in and stumbled into what looked like someone’s residence. Anyway, we found the restaurant despite a couple of wrong turns and the views down to shark bay and across to another bay beyond were awesome. Having taken our fill of selfies and photos, we sat down, ordered some drinks and started to take in the menu. We were advised that there was no fish today, but seafood and everything else was available. Both our meals were excellent, tasty and had more chicken/ seafood than we had become accustomed to. The meals were tasty but not spicy. However the condiments on the tables were wide ranging - a mild chilli sauce, Maggi sauce, ketchup, olive oil, balsamic and salt & pepper. I had seafood with chilli and pepper with plain rice. It had the typical three or four large shrimp accompanied by lots of delicious squid. It was very tasty but it was even better (to my taste) with some extra chilli sauce. My wife had the chicken salad which she really enjoyed and commented that it was flavoursome and had much more chicken than seems to be the norm here. Our bill was less than we expected, especially based on the quality of the food. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here and have some fantastic photos as memoirs. The journey here on foot from the Haad Tien Beach Resort was hard work in the heat and definitely not for the infirm, but we are both in our fifties and are very glad we made the effort! Make the effort to get here and we’re sure you will agree that it is worth it!

I returned to this place hoping it would still be going after Covid. Pleased to say it was and tonight the fisherman brought the catch in to the restaurant soon after we arrived. Incredible barbecued fish straight from the sea and some delicious mixed vegetables. Per my previous review you need a taxi or confidence on a motorbike. The views are stunning although the location in the third floor of a derelict building rather off putting. But give it a try, go for the freshest fish there is.

Eagle View is not what you would think, at all! The name says a lot, it obviously has a great view overlooking Shark Bay on Koh Tao, but what you really come back for is the food. It doesn't get more "thai" than this. The seafood is amazing and brought in fresh from the shores of Koh Tao every day. No need for a menu, just ask the owner, who is the fisherman, to bring you the best catch of the day. You will love it. We visited Eagle View several times during our stay at Koh Tao, its absolutely fantastic.

Delicious, fresh, authentic Thai food. Five minute walk up a steep hill from Jamahkiri resort. Very good value. Would recommend the barbecued fish of the day and sweet and sour chicken.

Little hidden gem with the most incredible views for sunset. Awesome fresh fish. I almost didn’t want to leave a review because I’d hate for this place to become super crowded but it deserves recognition. You need a motorbike or vehicle to get here. Pretty steep hills to drive up but so worth it. Rooftop is on top of what seems like derelict building but just keep waking up and you’ll see there’s a restaurant and bar up top. Cool experience and great food.

we went their twice as it was really close to our resort. the walk is always really exhausting but it makes me appreciate the view even more when we get there. for both times we had different food - my favourite would have to be the coconut shake and the lemon shake. SO delicious. no name shrimp was yummy, but i think they gave me no name vegetable instead, i can’t see any shrimp in it. it was really tasty regardless. we ordered a bbq red snapper and my boyfriend loved it a lot. it’s a great experience and the only bad thing about it is the walk and the time it takes for us to wait for the food.

This place has the absolute best sunset views from above the treetops and superb fresh fish and seafood cooked with pride. But it is up and down a few steep hills, so you need a taxi who is prepared to go there or a motorbike and a bit of courage. But we’re in our 50s and made it on one bike so you can too! A unique experience, feels like a secret society when you climb up the rickety staircase of a derelict building. Worth it, you won’t forget.
