We have been to Koh Phangan several times and the Romanzo Tropicale is always worth to visit.
The pizza is typically Italian and the tiramisu tastes better than in some restaurants in Italy.
Great ambience right by the sea. The guys are very friendly and the service is great and they try to make everything possible.
By the way, if it's ever full, the pizza is also available to take away.

We came to this smart restaurant, right on the sea for dinner. First observation is the place is more like a cocktail bar than a restaurant, with casual seating & quiet load music.
Cocktails were good, but food was disappointing.
Pizza we had was crispy edged, but the bottom was soggy. My prawn spaghetti dish was rather bland, short of seafood & the pasta was slightly over cooked.
Better Italian food on KP for sure.

There is no need of placing a “warning sign” about my post. It’s a freedom of speech and if I have a bad experience at the place I dine I do write about it.
I live in Bangkok therefore my reviews are mainly in Bangkok. I didn’t post any review from Koh phangan or Koh Samui as mentioned by you so please get your facts straight.
First of all my comment was mainly about overcooked pasta which me as well as 3 other of my friends didn’t enjoy as you could see, as half of the food was left by us so it is not my only opinion. yet you have focused on pizza.
Talking about pizza you as Italian should know that REAL pizza cooking time is between 4-7 min if you have a proper oven therefore it raises my question about the waiting time for 45 min for pizza.
It was not just my feedback however also another two tables next to us were really disappointed with food.
I have been to Naples on multiple occasions and your pizza is FAAAAAAR from the reality and you as an Italian are fully aware of that yet continuing denying the quality of the food at your restaurant.
As a manager / owner you supposed to be the one who can find a solution. I wasn’t rude to you nor offended you. I asked if you’re Italian and if you’d eat this food as an Italian as this food was disgusting.

I do understand mistakes can happen however having 5-6 items added to my bill was clearly not a mistake or most probably mixed with another table.
The only positive side was the ambience and extremely good service from your waiters.

Stopped in here last night as I found myself craving a real authentic carbonara.
Really impressed, the location is amazing and the restaurant has two areas and a really quite unique internal setting - it was absolutely packed and there were no tables free but manu, who I assume was one of the owners, allowed me to sit at the bar to eat and was very accomodating and friendly.
I had a spritz aperol and an absolutely brilliant properly made carbonara which you’d expect as the guys are from Rome!
Really really good menu and reasonably priced wine, pizzas looked amazing, staff were all friendly and prices are reasonable when you consider the amount they have to get on the island to deliver an authentic Italian experience.
If you want a decent Italian on koh phangan I would recommend this and Nena restaurant down the road.
I stopped and had a course in both and neither disappointed but I would say this is, by far, the most complete and authentic Italian restaurant offering on the island.
Great job guys and I’ll definitely see you again!!

Our main course consisted of pasta pomodori, rigatoni and lasagna bolognese.
The lasagna was very bad. A standard microwave lasagna from the supermarket is much better. It looked more like a pasta pie with the sauce dried up. Dough leaves were way too far through.
The rigatoni tasted very strange. There, too, the sause was more like a pudding.
The spaghetti was ok, but nothing like a spaghetti pomodori.
The price is on the high side (for Thai standards)
Although the place is nice located on the beach and the place looks good, I would eat my pasta somewhere else.

Service was fine to begin with but just seem to stop once the main course was delivered. You know when you try to get the eye of the staff but they seem to be looking everywhere but you! I even signalled to who I assume is the owner and he acknowledged what I wanted but nothing arrives.
Food was excellent the pizza base was amazing, too much tomato and cheese for my liking. Pasta was perfect.
The real problem was the bill, they had overcharged, put 6 extra beers on the bill (there was only two of us and we had 5 so they charged us for 11) , the guy at the till should have checked, it was way over what we had but mistakes happen. So I queried this and then he causes a bit of a fuss talking to the waitress and then fumbles at the till and clearly did not give me back the right amount. I should have queried it further but to be honest it was all a bit embarrassing so I left, kicked myself when I got back, and it put a sour taste on what was a good evening. I’m sure it was all a mistake but do the right thing and provide a correct refund. I won’t be going back, good food wrecked by strange service.

Excellent experience. Restaurant of truly Italian cuisine, romantic and exactly on the sea. Soft lighting, nice music, friendly staff, good food and honest prices. You dine on pillows, barefoot and with the sound of the sea in the background. Absolutely Recommendation, especially for couples!!

We dined tonight in this charming Italian restaurant. I loved the subdued decor , the cozy atmosphere , the good lounge music , the sea view and the soft sound of the waves ... ♥️ and I really loved the starter pizza we shared!! It was excellent ☺️ the rest of the pasta dishes was just as great!!! Cooked al toothed and a succulent arabia sauce!!! The great welcome! Great service!!! I highly recommend this restaurant located right next to the alcove. Only small downside , if you choose a table on the top part of the restaurant, the table vibrates slightly whenever someone steps on the wooden floor slats ... so take care for glasses that move slightly too ☺️ but it is only one detail that amused us 😊 Thank you to the boss or responsible who was charming 😊 We will come back with great pleasure 😍

Apparently they serve good quality pizza, but for us was not the case.

Pizza...delicious. Cooked in a special brick oven. The cold cuts and cheeses were a welcome relief to Thai food after 7 weeks of travelling here. The setting is great. You can sit on the beachside at tables or on floor cushions or on the roadside at proper tablles for a more traditional restaurant feel.
I can't really say enough about how good the pizza and pastas were.

But what a disappointment!
We come here every year, to change a little bit of Thai cuisine!
Already last year, the dishes were not as good as the other years... but there it was the apotheosis!
The piña colada had no taste and certainly not that of rum, my glass of red wine was not worthy of an Italian wine, the ravioli so tasteless that they were not eaten...
Besides, my husband got in and mine arrived 30 minutes later.

My friends and I had the most divine and succulent Italian food.
Pizza - pasta - desserts - service
everything from A to Z was absolutely amazing. And on the money.
Not to mention a stunning owner, Manu who is friendly , gorgeous and down to earth.
We have a stunning meal and we enjoyed the chat with him.
