The market located in the heart of the city. Dirty and crewed, the food is super cheap. this is a normal market but you can find everything you need at the cheap price.

When in Ayuthaya, other than visiting the ruins, one of the best Thai experience is to visit the local life by exploring their market. Chao Phrom Market is open throughout the day, and closes before dinner. Lots of authentic thai cuisines and halal cuisines along...this street, there is a pretty delicious thai wanton noodle situated across the market, next to Ayothaya hotel. Would highly recommend one to stay here, 711, fast food, bike/bicycle rental all located just a stone throw away.More

Very nice mostly food market with locals eating there as well. Choice of seafood, barbecues of all sorts and sweets makes it a great evening sit down visit. Food is tasty but not very imaginative, simple market stuff.

Across the street from the hotel my tour group was staying at was the local market serving up local authentic Thai dishes. Our tour guide warned us this place is very “local”, however I have eaten at these types of places and street vendors in...many third world countries. The servers did not speak English, which isn’t a concern, as our tour guide translated for us. I found the dishes to be poor in taste and quality, as well as area to be unsanitary, as a boy was bathing himself in the kitchen sink where they clean dishes. The experience and food was so bad, that I was unable to finish my lunch and left half of the food on my plate. I headed back to the hotel, and eventually stopped in KFC across the street from the market for some Thai spicy chicken wings to bridge the gap until dinner. Thinking about this now, KFC was needed as comfort food after what I tasted, seen and heard while in this market. I seldom give places a terrible rating, however based on my experience, this place is worthy of the rating. Perhaps one of the street vendors would have better food than this place in the back of Chao Phrom Market.More
