Just round the corner from the artisan market, this traditional and somewhat formal indigenous restaurant is a good place for lunch or dinner. They seated and served us quickly - they seem used to large groups. There was a fixed priced lunch menu, but I...More

Tasty affordable authentic. Really a good combination. The luncheon special including a neat empanada with berry sauce, a pork main and soup and postre flan All for 7.50 each and served with a smile. Very interesting 1920's décor. A fine solid lunch and a view...More

I made it my mission to try the shrimp ceviche whenever possible while in Ecuador - my personal quest to find the best recipe. I think I found it at Intu Huasi. The combination of flavors was perfect. The app portion was large and it...More

There are fixed price menus for just a few dollars that include soup, a main course and dessert. The food is delicious but the portions are very small so if you're hungry, you may need to order two.

The local food is good and recognizable. The service is slow because the restaurant is busy. The soups are excellent and so is the avocado with chicken salad. We were robbed in the restaurant by people who were dining at another table. It's crowded and...More

We ate here on a Monday nite just before Xmas, that may explain why there was only one other couple eating there. We shared a very nice cerviche starter, and each had an steak for mains, which while it was huge was very tough. The...More

This restaurant has been in Otavalo for about 10 years, but has gotten better, new managers. I eat there alot. It is a large and very clean place and now there are about half locals and half tourists who eat in the place. A 5 course lunch (include large safe juice), which changes every day, is about $4. Many other things to choose from--steak, trout, chicken. They have live music every Saturday afternoon. The food is also typical Ecuadorian food, creatively prepared and the place is VERY clean. I am very picky and can attest to that!
