Come early and get in line for the absolute best barbecue and unique Southern cuisine from Saw's. With limited indoor seating, the place fills up fast but with the arrival of springtime temperatures the outdoor seating will be ideal for the made to order specialties like Grits & Greens, the Colonel Chicken sandwich, Smoked Wings and anything else on the... Run don't walk to Saw's! Don't be concerned about the outside appearance. The food is amazing. Best BBQ by FAR we have ever had. Shrimp and grits are unbelievable, the best we have ever had and we have had a lot! Pulled pork was so tender; no fat at all. BBQ sauce was amazing. Can't wait to go back. Truly... More

We were looking for some good Southern cooking, while driving through the state. Our visit was interrupted at its beginning by a wait of over 30 mins, where we were stopped at the railroad crossing, 2 blocks away from the restaurant. A hole in the wall place, not fancy at all, but the food was very good. I would recommend... More

Loved the pork sandwich, onion rings and fries. Great sweet tea. If you like hole in the wall type places, don't miss this one. Picnic tables available outside. Pet friendly area

All choices are fantastic! I prefer the white chicken with greens and any other side....you will love it too! Small seating area and usually full. The wait isn't bad and the service is great! Worth the journey into old downtown Homewood. There are a few nice shoppes nearby too.

Since we live South of the Mason Dixon Line, we have eaten barbeque in numerous cities in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, etc. We thought we had eaten great tasting barbeque but Saw's barbeque in Birmingham, Al. beats all the other barbeques hands down. The sauces have unique flavors and there is one white sauce... More

Wife and I were in town for Eric Church concert. Saw this place on trip advisor. Very small place with like 6 indoor tables and a bunch of tables outside. Great wings (crispy and delicious even without sauce) and BBQ pork (basically a big hunk of slow cooked happiness). Cheese grits were super creamy goodness. Sweet tea will cause the... More
