Stumbled upon this place by accident - it's easy to miss but was the only place open on Monday. Took a chance and so glad we did. The Fried Chicken and BBQ Chicken were incredible!!! Sweet Potato Fries and Onion Strings - food was perfect. So many other things to try on the menu, we will be back for sure!... More

It is a very small restaurant with about 6-7 tables. It is extremely cramped for you and the people eating at the tables when you stand in line to order, Got up there and the woman who took the order was not helpful and was rude. They had no ice in the machine for your self fill drinks. Went outside... More

Loved the pulled pork. It tasted like it came off the pit in the backyard. The banana pudding was amazing, too. I didn't know what to expect, and was a little surprised at the chaos. It was crowded and not very appealing in looks, but a "must-do" when in Birmingham. Best BBQ I've had in the city. The experience is... More

Perfect hole in the wall BBQ with a fiery pit in the back and some bomber pork. Sometimes the perfect road food is a sumptuous meal and Saw's is a spot for this.

I grew up in Alabama and barbecue was considered one of the necessities of life along with air and water. I moved away in 1977 and have since lived in Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, and Louisiana. Every where I live I look for the best barbecue to fill that life-necessity that I crave. Today I had a pulled-pork... More

I have now been to Saw's and a variety of BBQ places throughout the south and this is one that has become a must eat when I am in Birmingham. The food is always good, relatively quick and always seems to hit the spot. My two favorite dishes are the pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwich in the white BBQ... More

All aspects are original from my point of view. Ribs were great. Chicken with white BBQ sauce was different and very flavorful and memorable. Sides of Mac and cheese and beans etc all acceptable but you are there for the ribs and chicken. Pork sliced were a bit dry. Service was friendly and welcoming. You will love this place. Locals... The pork sandwich was loaded with so much meat you could take meat off and have another meal at home.

Hole in the wall with great food. You must try the pork n greens before you die. And you can get it to-go, walk down the block to Avondale Brewing and enjoy it with a beer.
