After seeing a backpacker furiously munching away at his curry we were tempted to try Indra. It was not glitsy, didn't seem to be tailored to western tourists and so as we did from our previous experience in Yangon we thought going local we would again discover true Burmese cuisine. Unfortunately everything in Inle is a four letter word -... More

We ordered tandoori chicken with plain chapati, but what we got was a mere disappointment. The chicken leg was obviously defrosted; it was so dry we couldn't eat it. Unfortunately, the chapati wasn't much better.. it was terribly dry; I guess the tissues on the table taste more or less the same. When we told the owner that we were... More

It was watery and very small portions. The owner was rude to tell us all the time her food is good and normal portions, instead of makimg excuse and do something aboit the poor food.

Host was warm and explained the menu passionately. Garlic chapattis were excellent and freshly made! Go for the set meals and top up 1000kyats for a garlic chapatti (instead of plain). Masalar (as spelt in menu) tea was also excellent and fragrant.

Indra is a hole in the wall, four table joint on Yone Gyi Road, the kind of place you might think is only good for cheap eats. But if you want homey, good food served by some of the nicest people around, Indra is where you'll find it. I ended up there after an execrable meal at Vindaloo. I wanted... More

The only reason I gave this place two stars is that their Chapatis were quite good, however they didn't make up for the rest of the food which was poor in the extreme. They were advertising cooking classes which they hold during the day. They should be taking them, not giving them. Small watery portions were the order of the... More

I don't usually write reviews but I felt the need to tell other travellers about this place. We went to Indra for a quick dinner. We've both ordered the veg curry set for 2500 kyat, you can pick between rice or 2 x chapatis. It says it comes with side dishes. I ordered chapatti and my partner ordered rice. The... More

We enjoyed a good chicken curry with roti and a wonderful selection of mango, tomato, ginger chutneys with daal and pickled limes. Very fresh, tasty Indian food.

A group of me and three friends went for dinner here. Initially the host was very welcoming. We got menus (LIMITED) then was informed of a lack of rice for which she would add an extra chapati to our dishes. Seemed fair. This did not eventuate tho and we received one extra chapati for all four of us. Then, after... More
