I would recommend this restaurant to relax and try some local wine but not for food. The pizza margarita was awful. They don’t know anything about pizza dough and which spices or herbs to use. The chicken bbq wings were OK but nothing special.

Have been here for a couple of work related dinners and a few times with a close friend of the owners who have always been most welcoming and hospitable. I will be returning whenever I visit Taunggyi. There is a wide choice of seating from...indoor to outside and even what seems to be a romantic private table beside the pool. All in all, a very pleasant location in which to pass an evening with friends. I have, in general, limited myself to the vegetable dishes which were always acceptable, though I did once have a taste of the mutton curry with was also quite good. As far as the wines are concerned, to be fair, I have only tasted the reds and they have always been enjoyable. To be placed in context, this is one of only two wineries in Myanmar, a country that does not have a heritage in wine making.More
KYT6,000 for tasting only. Cannot be deducted from wine purchases. Top bottle of Shiraz Grand Reserve is KYT16,000 which is ok/average but not available for tasting. Supposedly European in style but very big and fruity New World to me (not dry).
I've been to this place couple of times. Apart from wine the food is suck and the service too. Seems they don't have control over the staff. Wine is the best wine in Myanmar but it was ruined by the attitudes of the staff the...taste of the food. Food is not good and just average. Servers always seems busy and it is busy restaurant but they don't have that customer service skills and it's hard to get their attention. They should have supervisor or captain for every sectors but unfortunately they are not really keen to help you with your orders or if you need something else. Apart from perfect wine, it's winery and the view , the rest are pretty much lower the standard. I would recommend if you have never been to a place then you could go and experience but don't expect for service and good food.More
Had dinner with my Wife and Uncle there. We got there just before sunset and stay on into the night. Though we were the last family to leave, we did receive any “pressure” from the staff to go. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
Such an beautiful place. Helpful staffs and tasty traditional meal. Can learn about making wine and can taste high quality wine. A must visit place for in Taungyi.
Visited here for a function which included dinner and traditional Shan state entertainment. Food was excellent, service was great and the wines produced by the adjoining winery were surprisingly good compared comparing well with international alternatives .... and much better than other Myanmar wines we...have tested. Highly recommended.More
We found this Winery by chance when thinking about visiting another Vineyard in the area and seeing that their reviews were terrible. We had also tried the white wine from here and found it quite palatable when put with Asian food. We went with the...idea of visiting the Winery itself, having a tour of the vines and then doing a wine tasting before having lunch. Unfortunately it was harvest time and because of that the Winery was closed although there didn’t appear to be much activity whilst we were there. The person who took us round didn’t speak particularly good English and didn’t seem to know an awful lot about the process. We were given 4 wines to taste - a White Sauvignon Blanc, another Sauvignon Blanc which was Late Harvest, a Rose and a Shiraz. Our preferred 2 were the Sauvignon Blanc and the Shiraz both were acceptable with local food but I doubt either would travel well. For the tasting we had a brief explanation of the wines (we could have read it on the bottle for ourselves) and then she left us with 4 unopened bottles and our 4 glasses (tastes) of wine. There was no actual tasting done with us and the amount poured into to 4 glasses varied so much from 2 sips to almost half a glass. We were brought menus which were quite extensive but we opted for simple food which wasn’t bad. The Vineyard is in a lovely setting but they are not really set up for tastings. We enjoyed our time there.More
Of the two wineries in the region, this one is far, far superior. Good food options, a nice outdoor setting, and enjoyable wines.
The place is very nice, especially at sunset, it would be a pity not to spend time there with lover or friends. The wine, let's be clear, is far from the best in the world (rosé was my favorite). Big cloud on the horizon: my...partner accidentally broke one of their glasses, which was charged 3000 Kyats. It is only $ 2 certainly .... but I have never seen in the world an establishment that charges a broken glass. That's rude !! 👎🏽👎🏽More
This is a great way to break up the journey to Kakku pagodas or it could even be a destination in itself for a relaxing lunch. The restaurant does a sampling for four of their wines. The wines are ok, with the Rose probably being...our preferred. The wines are much nicer than Red Mountain. The lunch was enjoyable with our recommendation being the bass.More
As a wine enthusiast I was keen to see the only two wineries in Myanmar. We went here for lunch. We were shown the Dornfelder and Shiraz vines and then the winery. Our guide was fairly knowledgeable and able to answer most of our questions...about the winery. The tasting was rather cursory; we were given samples of the Sauvignon Blanc, the late harvested Sauvignon Blanc, the Rosé (Shiraz and Muscat), and the red (Shiraz and Dornfelder with a little Tempranillo) with no commentary. Both whites tasted very chemical, the Rosé was a little better, and the red not too bad (but still a little tainted) given its price. The really strange thing is that when we drank the same wines on our travels around Myanmar they were much better, suggesting they had been badly stored in the winery restaurant. Our lunch was OK, but nothing special. Whilst we were in Myanmar we visited the only other winery, Red Mountain, and I think the scenery at Red Mountain was better, but the wines poorer. If you have visited wineries elsewhere in the world and know a little about wine I don’t think it worthwhile visiting either vineyard in Myanmar.More
This place is famous for very first winery which reached international standard in Myanmar. Yes, the quality of wine been very impressed by customer from the world. This Sunset Wine Garden is a part of Ayetharya Wine actually. This restaurant served various kind of foods...and delicacies with red and white wine my favourite is fried potato with garlic. Please be mind that menu might change upon seasonal foods. It is not only for the foods but also scenery and feel the taste of fresh and green from its surrounding. Seeing is believing so that I'd like to suggest visitors to make sure to drop this place while you're travelling to Southern Shan State. Please do not miss it..More
Being Australian I’m a lover of wine so finding this winery in Myanmar was an absolute delight. The tasting comes at a small charge of 3000kyat where you get to sample 4 of the wines but you do get a good size serving for your...taste. After the tasting I walked around the vineyard before enjoy a glass of the Sav Blanc done in the garden area. I didn’t stay for food as the wine was perfect enough.More
Whenever I’m in Taunggyi , I always go to this Wine Garden. It’s also a vineyard ... so we can take a walk in the vineyards. And the sunset view is really beautiful and romantic. Perfect place to drink wine and feel the nature. But...don’t not expect much about food taste , they are just normal, and kebab is also available there but I didn’t get any taste of kebab. Anyway ... do not miss this place when you are in TaunggyiMore
