Probably the waiters in the restaurant would not like me to write about how many years ago I went to A Polonesa for the first time and met them - the same waiters! So I will not write any numbers, but yes it was a while ago. Tradition is one of the things you find here. A few meters from... More

Well, Polish cuisine is in fact German or Austrian cuisine only a but rougher. Try the Shashlik - a scewer on absolutely succulent grilled beef accompanied by a fresh krautsalat,(some kind of coleslaw) bratkartoffeln (chipped potatoes) and pickles. Avoid the sausages - you won´t find a propper sausage in the whole town. The waiters are a bit rude but true hearted... More

More

I took 3 friends with me to show them some Polish cuisine in Rio and being Polish myself and new to Rio, was curious of the style and quality of cooking. Well, the whole experience was a disaster. The restaurant is dirty, dusty and old fashioned in a bad way, which screams I do not care about customers. The waiter has not smiled... More

The restaurant looks like it hasn't changed since the 80's, very traditional spot in Copacabana. The menu also does not have the biggest variety but everrything I ever ate there was fantastic. Try the Batida!

If you are in Rio don't miss a visit to the Polonesa. The food is wonderful and the prices are not high. The quantity of food is now perfect and you should eat the cheese pancakes, the strogonoff and the chocolate souflé.You can't miss! It is really good.It is a simple restaurant but very agreable. It is advisable to make reservations before going.It... More

We went to the Polonesa to have dinner there. The atmosphere is very simple. The accomodations could be better. The food is ok! As a starter we asked for a kind of pastry with cheese.Very good. The main dish was a strogonoff.Very well done end they say it is for two people. For two it is not enough. As dessert we tried the chocolate Soufflé.Very good.At... After so many people telling us about this place, we decided to pay it a visit last night. It's a small restaurant hidden in Copacabana, only one waiter, white jacket style. The place is old fashionable and should get some renovations, but the food it self it´s really good and that's what really matters. I've never being in Poland to... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
