My measure of the quality of a Chinese restaurant always starts with the fried rice. Fried rice with carrots and no soy sauce to taste is just no good. Mr Lam was a very clean and comfy experience, but the food's definitely not worth the prices.

Now living in Sao Paulo for over 8 years, a city with best and higher variety of restaurants possible, Mr Lam is definitely a must go in Rio as there is nothing like it in Sao Paulo. The experience is fantastic, the food is divine. If you think you do not like Chinese food you must go to Mr Lam... More

Big portions, but not cheap. The name of the restaurant may be the most Asian thing about the place. A see and be seen place amongst the high society that clearly has never tasted real Asian food. Food is not bad, but just not authentic.

Very expensive for something that is nowhere close to Chinese food. For these prices I would recommend spending your money somewhere else. However most local Brazilians have never tasted Chinese food, so they believe this is legitimate.

It's not the first time we went to this restaurant as we live in Rio. Good Chinese food with no match in Rio. Overpriced though. The first time we went in 3 couples and it felt we were charged for more bottles of San Pelegrino water than we had ordered. Since we were not counting bottles, we didn't complained. This... More

Very good and fancy decor, attentive service, very good drinks, delicious, delicate food. Very rare to find good chinese food wherever one goes nowadays. This is the place. After many years, back to check and very good and pleasant surprise. Worth the detour. Good wine list and delicious desserts.

This places was recommended by the Hotel concierge. It needs to be booked in order to reserve a place. You will have almost 1 service person for each table. The food was delicious and the service was great. Good atmosphere for after office or a romantic dinner night out. They do have collection of wine for your taste or simply... More

I recommend this restaurant. It is a Chinese food kind of restaurant, but it is a sophisticated one. Service was very good. The location is also good, close to the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas.

Visiting from San Francisco, my friend and I we were craving for Asian foods, this is the highest rating Asian restaurant on TripAdvisor, we thought why not despite the place looks fancy. Oh boy, how wrong can I get. I am not comparing the quality of the foods to U.S or Asia standard, but hands down, the most disgusting Chinese... More
