Enjoyed the enchilada chipotle. Good red and green salsas for chips. Margaritas had a strong lime rind flavour and did not seem very fresh. Good service. Was not excellent but we were not disappointed either.

We were looking for something different in a Mexican restaurant and Frida's was the place suggested by our hotel in Anacortes. We weren't disappointed, my wife and I were both happy with our choices. She isn't as much a fan of the standard Mexican fare but really enjoyed her Crepes Abuelita Emma Two rolled crepes stuffed with crab meat covered... More
Lots of people like the place but I didn't. Strange and expensive menu. Not your typical style of Mexican food. I felt like I was eating in disneys haunted mansion with the strange painting of a guy on the North wall watching me.
The menu looked very interesting--definitely not the typical Mexican American fare--with almost too many dishes to choose. We live in Mexico part of the year and were eager to try an "authentic" restaurant locally with friends. The food portions were generous and plated beautifully but some were lukewarm and all over-priced. We would have considered going back to give it... More
We went there for a late lunch yesterday after reading several positive reviews. This is not your typical American Mexican place. It is fine dining with gourmet Mexican food. The usual American/Mexican food is also available but I would recommend trying one of their specialty items. My husband had salmon enchiladas which he said were delicious. I had chicken molé... More
What a delight to find this gem in historic downtown Anacortes. A wonderful setting among art, bottles of tequila and yummy food. My husband had the chicken mole ( said it was the best ever) and I had the Steak Gerardo that was killer hot, but in a good way! This is not your corner, everyday South of the border... More
We eat out a lot and make an effort to try every Mexican restaurant we see. Frida's was the best Mexican food we have had for a long long time. Every item we tried was excellent as well as the service and atmosphere (very nicely done). The prices may seem higher than the usual Mexican restaurant but the food was... More
The staff was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. The atmosphere and decor were inviting and neither overdone nor stuffy and the mole' sauce was wonderful. Would gladly go back.
I'm not sure that Mexican food is a good descriptor for their menu but gourmet certainly fits. Although a number of standard Mexican dishes are on the menu, the predominate items are gourmet items that don't quiet fit any classification. I've been there only twice but both visits were exceptional. My orders included scallops in a tamarind/zucchini sauce and a... More
